Friedrich Olbricht
Friedrich Olbricht (4 October 1888 – 21 July 1944) was a German general during World War II and one of the plotters involved in the 20 July Plot, an attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944. He was a senior staff officer, with the rank of lieutenant general. He was secretly in contact with most of the leaders of the resistance. They briefed him on their various plots and he placed sympathetic officers in key positions. He quietly encouraged field commanders to support the resistance. By late 1943 his office was the centre of Resistance plotting, under Claus von Stauffenberg. Had the 20 July plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler been successful, he would have assumed the position of Minister of Finance in a post-Nazi regime. Alexander Olbricht
Alexander Gustav Georg Olbricht (6 June 1876, Breslau - 11 November 1942, Weimar) was a German artist. He created approximately 2,000 graphics, engravings, silhouettes and oil paintings. Biography His father, Gustav Olbricht (1851–1892) was a painter and art restorer at the Silesian Museum of Fine Arts. At the age of sixteen, he was employed by the firm of "P. Strunk", an art material supplier. After his father's death, he enrolled at the , where he studied with the landscape painter, . In 1899, he transferred to the Grand-Ducal Saxon Art School, Weimar, and studied with Theodor Hagen (artist), Theodor Hagen. Five years later, he married Margarethe Thurow (1882–1972), from Mecklenburg, whom he had met at the school. After this, he gradually gave up oil painting in favor of graphics and printmaking. Bernd Olbricht (born 17 October 1956 in Gnoien) is an East German sprint canoeist who competed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won four medals with two golds (1976: K-2 500 m, 1980: K-4 1000 m), one silver (1976: K-2 1000 m), and one bronze (1980: K-2 500 m).
