Olaipadi is a village in the Papanasam taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The village is situated on the northern side four km from Swamimalai near Kumbakonam and one km northeast from Adhanur, one of the 108 Divyadesams, has a temple for Lord Vishnu. Demographics As per the 2001 census, Olaipadi had a total population of 1670 with 832 males and 838 females. The sex ratio was 1007. Papanasam Taluk
Papanasam taluk is a taluk of Thanjavur district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Papanasam. Demographics According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Papanasam had a population of 272,871 with 133,814 males and 139,057 females. This was an increase of 7% from the 2001 total of 255,093. There were 1,039 women for every 1,000 men, up from 1,027 per 1,000 males in 2001. The taluk had a literacy rate of 72.72%, up from 72.48% in 2001. Child population in the age group below 6 was 13,410 males and 12,682 females. Thiru Aadanoor Temple
Andalakkum Aiyan Perumal Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu located in Aadanoor, Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu, India. Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the ''Divya Prabandha'', the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Vishnu is worshiped as Andalakkum Aiyan and his consort is worshiped as Bhargavi. The temple has a small shrine with Vimanam and 3-tier rajagopuram. The temple was built by Aditya Chola. A Divya Desam or Vaishnava Divya Desam is one of the 108 Vishnu and Lakshmi temples that is mentioned in the works of the Alvars, the poet-saints of the Sri Vaishnava tradition. Of the 108 temples, 105 are in India, one is in Nepal, and the last two are believed to outside the earth, in Tirupparkatal and Vaikuntham. In India, they are spread over the states of Tamil Nadu (84), Kerala (11), Andhra Pradesh (2), Gujarat (1), Uttar Pradesh (4), and Uttarakhand (3).
