Olaias (Lisbon Metro)
Olaias is a station on the Red Line of the Lisbon Metro. The station is located on Rua de Olivença southeast of Avenida Engenheiro Arantes e Oliveira in the Olaias neighbourhood to the north east of central Lisbon. History The architectural design is by Tomás Taveira and the installation art was created by Pedro Cabrita Reis, Graça Pereira Coutinho, Pedro Calapez and Rui Sanchez. Metropolitano S.A. was a privately owned consortium formed in 1994 to take over concessions granted by the Argentine government as part of railway privatisation during the presidency of Carlos Menem for the operation of commuter rail services in the Buenos Aires Province. Pedro Cabrita Reis
Pedro Cabrita Reis (born September 5, 1956) is one of the foremost visual artists of his generation and also one of Portugal’s most internationally renowned artists. His work features a wide variety of media – painting, sculpture, photography and drawing – and has been exhibited and included in numerous national and international museum collections. He lives and works in Lisbon. Career Cabrita Reis studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. His first solo exhibition, “25 Desenhos” [25 Drawings], was held at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes in 1981. While at university, he founded and directed the magazine ''Arte Opinião'' [Art Opinion] (1978-1982).
