Oklahoma Alliance
Oklahoma Alliance is an American women’s soccer team, founded in 2007. The team is a member of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the second tier of women’s soccer in the United States and Canada. The team plays in the South Division of the Big Sky Conference. In earlier seasons the team played its home games in the stadium on the campus of Chickasha High School in the city of Chickasha, Oklahoma, but the team moved to the pitches of the Edmond Soccer Club in Edmond, Oklahoma—a city in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The club's colors are black and white. Chickasha is a city in and the county seat of Grady County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 16,036 at the 2010 census. Chickasha is home to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. The city is named for and strongly connected to Native American heritage, as "Chickasha" (''Chikashsha'') is the Choctaw word for Chickasaw. History Chickasha was founded by Hobart Johnstone Whitley, a land developer, banker, farmer and Rock Island Railroad executive. The Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) is an amateur women's soccer league in the United States and Canada. It is the top amateur league for women's soccer in the United States soccer pyramid, below only National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The WPSL is the longest-running active women's soccer league as it enters its 23rd season in 2021 – the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The WPSL is also the largest women's soccer league in the United States, North America and the world with 135 active teams. The WPSL started as the Western Division of the W-League, before breaking away to form its own league in 1998. Chickasha High School
Chickasha High School is located in Chickasha, Oklahoma, United States. For the 2021-2022 school year, the school had an enrollment of 680 with 48 teachers. History Chickasha Public Schools were established in the 1890s. In his book, ''Chickasha...A Journey Back in Time'', Irvin Munn quotes Mrs. Joe Dews as reporting that school in Chickasha was held in a store on Main Street with Eugene Hamilton, a lawyer, as teacher. Munn later says the first graduating class was in 1903. It consisted of two members, Lousie Murphy and W. P. Latting. Mr. W. A. Delzell was the first superintendent of schools in Chickasha, and after the town was classified as a First Class City in 1901, four brick school buildings were built. Melinda Mercado
Melinda Mercado (born March 19, 1990) is an American soccer defender currently playing for Boston Breakers in the National Women's Soccer League. Early life Raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Mercado attended Sapulpa High School, where she was a two-sport star on both the soccer and basketball teams. She was named Sapulpa High School's Athlete of the Year in 2007 and 2008. As captain of the soccer team, she led the team with 11 goals and was named all-conference and all-district as a sophomore, junior and senior. She captained the team to a district title and earned all-state honors as a senior. Jackie Acevedo
Jackie Lynn Acevedo Rangel (born 18 January 1987) is an American-born Mexican former footballer who played as a striker. Early life Acevedo was born in Austin, Texas, United States to Mexican parents and has five siblings (Jamie Acevedo, Jenny Acevedo, Alexandria King, Victoria King, and Chancellor King). She attended McNeil High School in Austin and won a Texas State Championship in 2004 with McNeil's soccer team. She then went to college at the University of Tennessee.
