Okanagan North
Okanagan North was a federal electoral district in the province of British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1979 to 1988. This riding was created in 1976 from parts of Kamloops—Cariboo, Okanagan Boundary and Okanagan—Kootenay ridings. It was abolished in 1987 when it was redistributed into Okanagan Centre and Okanagan—Shuswap ridings. It consisted of the North Okanagan Regional District and part of the Central Okanagan Regional District lying east of Electoral Area G and Electoral Area H. The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) is a regional district in the Canadian province of British Columbia, Canada. The Canada 2011 Census population was 81,237. The land area is 7,512.58 km² (2,900.62 sq mi). The regional district's head office is in the district municipality of Coldstream, although the largest population centre is its immediate neighbour, the city of Vernon. This is a list of Canada's 338 federal electoral districts (commonly referred to as '' ridings'' in Canadian English) as defined by the ''2013 Representation Order''. Canadian federal electoral districts are constituencies that elect members of Parliament to Canada's House of Commons every election. Provincial electoral districts often have names similar to their local federal counterpart, but usually have different geographic boundaries. Canadians elected members for each federal electoral district most recently in the 2021 federal election on . George Whittaker (Canadian Politician)
George Herbert Whittaker (22 December 1919 – 26 August 2013) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was an orchardist and farmer by career. He represented British Columbia's Okanagan Boundary electoral district which he won in the 1972 federal election. He was re-elected in the 1974 and 1979 federal elections, thus serving three successive terms from the 29th to 31st Canadian Parliament The 31st Canadian Parliament was a briefly lived parliament in session from October 9 until December 14, 1979. The membership was set by the 1979 federal election on May 22, 1979, and it was dissolved after the minority government of Joe Clark ...s. Vincent Dantzer
Vincent Martin Dantzer (2 October 1923 – 13 March 2001) was a Canadian lawyer, economist, and politician, a member of the House of Commons of Canada, and a mayor of Edmonton, Alberta. Early life Dantzer was born in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942, and served as a Flying Officer in the Burma Campaign. He left the military in 1946, and began studying economics at the University of Saskatchewan, from which he graduated with an honours degree in 1948. He continued his studies at the University of Toronto, where he earned a Master of Arts in economics. He worked for the Canadian government's department of Trade and Commerce as a research economist in 1949 before returning to Saskatchewan to work in the provincial government's budget bureau.
