Okaloacoochee Slough
The Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest is in the U.S. state of Florida. The forest is located in the southwestern part of the state, near Felda. The forest gets its name from the Muskogee and when translated may mean "small bad water" or "boggy slaw." Southwest Florida is the region along the southwest Gulf coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The area is known for its beaches, subtropical landscape, and winter resort economy. Muskogean Languages
Muskogean (also Muskhogean, Muskogee) is a Native American language family spoken in different areas of the Southeastern United States. Though the debate concerning their interrelationships is ongoing, the Muskogean languages are generally divided into two branches, Eastern Muskogean and Western Muskogean. Typologically, Muskogean languages are agglutinative. One documented language, Apalachee, is extinct and the remaining languages are critically endangered.
