Oisín Mac Diarmada
Oisín Mac Diarmada (born 1978) is an Irish fiddler. Biography Oisín Mac Diarmada was born in 1978 in County Clare, and grew up in Crusheen. He started playing the fiddle from an early age, and began winning competitions at age eight. He also won Fiddle solo and Duet titles as the All-Ireland Junior Champion at Fleadh Cheoil in 1988. In 1989, his family moved to County Sligo and Oisín attended the music school in Ballymote. He started studying classical piano at age 14. In 1999, Oisín won the All Ireland Fiddle Champion at Fleadh Cheoil, and in 2000, graduated Trinity College, Dublin/RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music). County Clare
County Clare () is a Counties of Ireland, county in the Provinces of Ireland, province of Munster in the Southern Region, Ireland, Southern part of Republic of Ireland, Ireland, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Coolaney
Coolaney () is a village in County Sligo, Ireland. Coolaney sits at the foot of the Ox Mountains with the river Owen Beg running through it around which is a walk. The remains of an old mill are located along the riverside walk, and the remains of the sluices under the mill can still be clearly seen, as well as the outfalls into the nearby river. Amenities As of the 2016 census, Coolaney had a population of just under 1,000 people, a significant increase in the ten years since the 2006 census, when the village had a population of just over 200 people. Coolaney's Roman Catholic parish church is located in Rockfield, approximately 800 m from the village centre. Gael Linn () is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation focused on the promotion of the Irish language and the arts. The organisation's funding includes government and lottery sources. History Gael Linn was founded in May 1953, following a meeting in Cork, with the goal to foster interest in the Irish language and promote artistic events. Since the early years of its foundation, the organisation has also run language courses. In the mid-1950s, Gael Linn supported the production of short films and news reels which were distributed to cinemas. In 1955, Gael Linn established the Irish-language Damer Theatre on St Stephen's Green which it operated until 1976.
