Nikos Koundouros
Nikos Koundouros ( el, Νίκος Κούνδουρος; 15 December 1926 – 22 February 2017) was a Greek film director. Biography Koundouros was born in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, in 1926. He studied painting and sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts. During the war he was a member of the left-wing resistance movement EAM-ELAS, and because of this was subsequently exiled to the Makronissos prison island. At the age of 28 he decided to follow a career in cinematography. He started his career as a film director, director of the film ''Magiki Polis'' (1954), where he combined his Neorealism (art), neorealism influences with his own artistic viewpoint. Titos Vandis ( el, Τίτος Βανδής; 7 November 1917 – 23 February 2003) was a Greek actor. Biography Vandis began his career on the Greek stage in the late 1930s. In 1962, he won the Best Actor award for the film ''Poliorkia'' at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Vandis left Greece when a dictatorship took power and lived in the United States for 24 years. Vandis appeared in over 250 plays before making his Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated musical ''On A Clear Day You Can See Forever'' (1965). He originated the role of Themistocles Kriakos, a Greek shipping magnate who believed in reincarnation and planned to leave his fortune to his future self. ''Boston Globe'' critic Kevin Kelly wrote that Vandis played the role with "marvellous finesse" and that the character was "rather like Zorba as a businessman with $4 million." Petros Fyssoun ( el, Πέτρος Φυσσούν; 5 October 1933 – 5 December 2016) was a Greek actor in film and television. Biography Petros Fyssoun was born in Agrinio, Greece, his father was a Russian émigré, who was established in Greece after the Russian Revolution. He graduated from the Dramatic School of Art Theatre in 1954. Until 1956, he collaborated with the Art Theatre of Karolos Koun. From 1961 to 1965, he played lead roles for the National Theatre of Greece, and the same again in 1976-78 for the State Theatre of Northern Greece. His repertoire has included all kinds of theatre, from drama, comedy and tragedy to burlesque. Georgios "Giorgos" Oikonomou (alternate spellings: ''Ikonomou'', ''Economou'', ''Ekonomou''; Greek: Γεώργιος "Γιώργος" Οικονόμου) is a retired Greek basketball player.
