This is a list of former high school athletic conferences in the Northwest Region of Ohio, as designated by the OHSAA. If a conference had members that span multiple regions, the conference is placed in the article of the region most of its former members hail from. Because the names of localities and their corresponding high schools do not always match and because there is often a possibility of ambiguity with respect to either the name of a locality or the name of a high school, the following table gives both in every case, with the locality name first, in plain type, and the high school name second in boldface type. Ohio
Ohio () is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. Napoleon High School (Ohio)
Napoleon High School is a public high school in Napoleon, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Napoleon Area City School District. Their nickname is the Wildcats. They are a member of the Northern Lakes League. North Baltimore, Ohio
North Baltimore is a village in Wood County, Ohio, United States and is part of the Toledo, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,432 at the 2010 census. The village is a member of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments. History North Baltimore was platted in 1874 when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was extended to that point. A post office called North Baltimore has been in operation since 1874. The village was incorporated in 1876. A September 26, 1986 industrial incident in North Baltimore lead to fumes hospitalizing 89 people. Grand Rapids, Ohio
Grand Rapids is a village in Grand Rapids Township, Wood County, Ohio, United States, along the Maumee River. The population was 965 at the 2010 census. Grand Rapids is served by a branch of the Weston Public Library. Notable residents Grand Rapids is the hometown of Robyn Hancock, the 1996 Miss Ohio who represented Ohio in the Miss America contest. Woodville, Ohio
Woodville is a village in Sandusky County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,135 at the 2010 census. The National Arbor Day Foundation has designated Woodville as a Tree City USA. History Woodville was laid out and platted in 1836. It was named for General Amos E. Wood. Woodville was the midway point on the Western Reserve and Maumee Turnpike, which was also known as the "Old Mud Pike" because of the thick mud that often mired animals and vehicles alike. It was the first permanent route across the Black Swamp. The toll road connected Perrysburg with Lower Sandusky, which has since been renamed Fremont. A mile marker from the road remains at 100 East Main Street, in front of the village pharmacy. Rudolph is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in eastern Liberty Township, Wood County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 415. It has a post office with the ZIP code 43462. History Rudolph was originally called Mercers, and under the latter was platted in 1890 and named for Daniel Mercer, proprietor. A post office called Rudolph has been in operation since 1891. The present name honors H. J. Rudolph, a town merchant. The post office in Rudolph has been offering a special Christmas postmark since 1990. Northwood, Ohio
Northwood is a city and eastern suburb in Wood County, Ohio, United States, within the Toledo metropolitan area. The population was 5,265 at the 2010 census. History Northwood was originally Ross Township. It was the northernmost township in Wood County from its establishment on April 18, 1874 until December 1, 1962. Farms, gardens, orchards, and railroads covered the area located just south of east Toledo. In 1898 Edward Ford's glass factory was built along the Maumee River, which ultimately led to the incorporation of the village of Rossford in 1939 within the western portion of the township. Ross Township was then divided so that Rossford Township would serve as a barrier between Rossford and the remaining Ross Township. Elmore is a village in Ottawa and Sandusky counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,410 at the 2010 census. Green Springs, Ohio
Green Springs is a village in Sandusky and Seneca counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 1,368 at the 2010 census. Its "claim to fame" is Mineral Springs, the largest natural sulfur spring in the world. Elmwood at the Springs Healthcare Center, formerly St. Francis Health Care Centre, is located there. Firelands Conference
The Firelands Conference is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) athletic league located in north-central Ohio. The league was formed in the 1960–61 school year and is named for the Firelands area of the old Western Reserve, where most of the member schools reside. High schools in this conference are located in Ashland, Huron, and Richland counties. Some of the schools' district boundaries extend into the neighboring counties of Crawford, Erie, and Lorain. Most of the founding schools came from the defunct Huron-Erie League.
