Ohio Historical Society
Ohio History Connection, formerly The Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society and Ohio Historical Society, is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1885. Headquartered at the Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio, Ohio History Connection provides services to both preserve and share Ohio's history, including its prehistory, and manages over 50 museums and sites across the state. An early iteration of the organization was founded by Brigadier General Roeliff Brinkerhoff in 1875. The Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) is a state agency that provides Internet access to the 251 Ohio public libraries for use by the residents of Ohio. OPLIN also provides Ohioans with free home access to high-quality, subscription research databases. OPLIN's purpose is to ensure that all Ohioans have equal access to information, regardless of its format or location.
