Dayton () is the sixth-largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Montgomery County. A small part of the city extends into Greene County. Bill Beagle (born December 6, 1964) is a former American politician who served as state senator for the 5th District of the Ohio Senate from 2011 to 2018. For part of his tenure, Beagle served as the Chairman for the Senate Workforce and Economic Development Committee. He is a Republican. Life and career Beagle graduated from Miami University with a degree in finance and from Cleveland State University with a M.B.A. He has worked as a financial analyst, but has since remained at home to raise his three children. Fred Strahorn
Frederick W. Strahorn (born March 20, 1965) is an American Democratic politician who served in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 39th District, which consists of much of Dayton, Ohio. He served as the Minority Leader for the 131st Ohio General Assembly and 132nd Ohio General Assembly. Life and career Strahorn served as a member of the Wright State University Board of Trustees, a position that ended in 2013. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and graduated with a B.A. in aviation management from Ohio State University. He also attended Sinclair Community College for real estate coursework. Tom Roberts is an Ohio Democratic politician who formerly served as a member of the Ohio General Assembly. Career Ohio House of Representatives When Ed Orlett resigned from the Ohio House of Representatives in 1986, House Democrats appointed Roberts to serve the remainder of his term. He went on to win election that same November, and again in 1988 and 1990. In 1992, Roberts was challenged by his predecessor, Ed Orlett, for the Democratic nomination, however Roberts ultimately won the primary election. Rhine Lana McLin (born October 1948) is an American Democratic politician from Ohio who served as the 54th mayor of Dayton, Ohio from 2002 to 2010. McLin previously served as a member of both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly. Education McLin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and secondary education from Parsons College and her Master of Education in guidance counseling from Xavier University. Clara Weisenborn
Clara E. Weisenborn (February 9, 1907 – January 26, 1985) was a Republican Ohio politician who served in the Ohio General Assembly. Born in Dayton, Weisenborn was a journalist by trade for the '' Journal Herald'', a prominent Dayton newspaper. She was initially elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1952 and served seven consecutive terms in the House. In 1966, Weisenborn was elected to the Ohio Senate, following the Voting Rights Act of 1965. She was reelected to a second term in 1970. Stephen A. Huffman (born November 14, 1964) is a Republican member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 5th district since 2019. Previously, Huffman served two terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. Life and career Huffman is a lifelong resident of Miami County and was raised in Ludlow Falls, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Toledo and has been a practicing physician for nearly 20 years.
