Ohio's 5th Congressional District
Ohio's 5th congressional district is in northwestern and north central Ohio and borders Michigan and Indiana. The district is currently represented by Republican Bob Latta. The district borders have changed somewhat from the previous redistrict as some of the easternmost counties were redistricted to other districts. From 2003 to 2013 all of Crawford, Defiance, Fulton,Hancock,Henry, Huron, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, and Wood Counties were included in this district. Portions of Ashland, Lucas, Mercer, and Wyandot Counties were also a part of the 5th District. State Route 5 (SR 5) is an east–west state highway in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is at Interstate 76 at its interchange with State Route 44 about south of Ravenna, and its eastern terminus is at the Pennsylvania state line northeast of Kinsman; this point is also the western terminus of Pennsylvania Route 58 which begins to the east. Williams County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 37,102. Its county seat is Bryan. The county was created in 1820 and later organized in 1824. It is named for David Williams, one of the captors of John André in the American Revolutionary War. John McCain
John Sidney McCain III (August 29, 1936 – August 25, 2018) was an American politician and United States Navy officer who served as a United States senator from Arizona from 1987 until his death in 2018. The 2008 United States presidential election was the 56th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The Democratic ticket of Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, and Joe Biden, the senior senator from Delaware, defeated the Republican ticket of John McCain, the senior senator from Arizona, and Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska. The 2004 United States presidential election was the 55th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. The Republican ticket of incumbent President George W. Mercer County is located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,528. Its county seat is Celina. The county was created in 1820 and later organized in 1824. It is named for Hugh Mercer, an officer in the American Revolutionary War.
