Ogden Tables
The Ogden tables are a set of statistical tables and other information for use in court cases in the UK. Their purpose is to make it easier to calculate future losses in personal injury and fatal accident cases. The tables take into account life expectancy and provide a range of discount rates from -2.0% to 3.0% in steps of 0.5%. The discount rate is fixed by the Lord Chancellor under section 1 of the Damages Act 1996; as of 15 July 2019, this rate is -0.25%. The discount rate in Northern Ireland is -1.5%.Government Actuary's Department Ogden Tables, Eighth edition (updated) accessed 20 March 2023 The full and official name of the tables is ''Actuarial Tables with explanatory notes for use in Personal Injury and Fatal Accident Cases'', but the unofficial name became common parlance following the Civil Evidence Act 1995, where this shorthand name was used as a subheading – Sir Michael Ogden QC having been the chairman of the Working Party for the first four editions. Ogden (hyperelastic Model)
The Ogden material model is a hyperelastic material model used to describe the non-linear stress–strain behaviour of complex materials such as rubbers, polymers, and biological tissue. The model was developed by Raymond Ogden in 1972.Ogden, R. W., (1972). ''Large Deformation Isotropic Elasticity – On the Correlation of Theory and Experiment for Incompressible Rubberlike Solids'', Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Vol. 326, No. 1567 (1 February 1972), pp. 565–584. The Ogden model, like other hyperelastic material models, assumes that the material behaviour can be described by means of a strain energy density function, from which the stress–strain relationships can be derived. Ogden material model In the Ogden material model, the strain energy density is expressed in terms of the principal stretches \,\!\lambda_j, \,\!j=1,2,3 as: : W\left( \lambda_1,\lambda_2,\lambda_3 \right) = \sum_^N \frac\left( \lambda_1^ + \ ...

Ogden is officially recorded by The Jockey Club as being foaled in the United Kingdom and is recorded in volume 17 of the General Stud Book, kept by the British Jockey Club, as being foaled on April 10, 1894. The decision to breed Oriole to Kilwarlin was made by the mare's initial owner, F. Luscombe. Oriole was bought in December 1893 by copper magnate and prominent horseman Marcus Daly after she had been bred to Kilwarlin, leading to persistent rumors ...

Ogden River
The Ogden River is a long river in Weber County. Utah, United States. Description The Ogden River's three forks (North, Central, and South) begin in the Wasatch Range in Weber County and converge at Pineview Reservoir, near Huntsville. The river then flows southwest through Ogden Canyon, the city of Ogden, and the border of West Haven and Marriott-Slaterville where it joins the Weber River. The Ogden River is older than the Wasatch Mountains. As the mountains slowly rose over the last 15 million years by periodic faulting on the Wasatch fault, the river was able to cut through the landscape to create the remarkable Ogden Canyon, which is a roughly long canyon with a series of smaller side canyons. The city of Ogden is at the western end of Ogden Canyon, with the eastern end at Pineview Dam. Originally named after 19th-century fur trader Peter Skene Ogden, the Ogden River has been a source of irrigation since the early 20th century. Pineview Dam was completed in 1937 as ...

River Ogden
A river is a natural flowing watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river. In some cases, a river flows into the ground and becomes dry at the end of its course without reaching another body of water. Small rivers can be referred to using names such as creek, brook, rivulet, and rill. There are no official definitions for the generic term river as applied to geographic features, although in some countries or communities a stream is defined by its size. Many names for small rivers are specific to geographic location; examples are "run" in some parts of the United States, "burn" in Scotland and northeast England, and "beck" in northern England. Sometimes a river is defined as being larger than a creek, but not always: the language is vague. Rivers are part of the water cycle. Water generally collects in a river from precipitation through a drainage basin from surface runoff and other sources such as groundwater recharge, springs, a ...

The Ogden
The Ogden (originally Streamline Tower) is a 21-story luxury condominium tower located at 150 North Las Vegas Boulevard in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ogden was announced in 2004 as the Streamline Tower condominium project, to be built on the former property of the Golden Inn motel, which was demolished at the end of the year. Work on the property began in 2005, to prepare it for the new project, which began construction the following year. The project was financed by Corus Bank, and was developed by a half-dozen investors, including Las Vegas Stars baseball player Dusty Allen. The tower was topped off in May 2007, and was opened on May 1, 2008. After its opening, Streamline Tower suffered poor sales as the result of a weak local and national economy. That year, 48 buyers who had yet to close escrow on their units filed a federal lawsuit against Streamline Tower in an attempt to retrieve their deposit money, after alleging that their units were smaller than expected and t ...

Ogden Avenue
Ogden Avenue is a street extending from the Near West Side of Chicago to Montgomery, Illinois. It was named for William B. Ogden, the first mayor of Chicago. The street follows the route of the Southwestern Plank Road, which opened in 1848 across swampy terrain between Chicago and Riverside, Illinois, and was extended to Naperville by 1851. The 1909 Plan of Chicago recommended an entire network of new diagonal streets, but the only one ever built was the extension in the 1920s of Ogden from Union Park through the Old Town neighborhood to end at Clark Street opposite Lincoln Park. This extension, largely built in the 1920s, was completed in 1934 with bridges and a connecting viaduct across Goose Island and the North Branch of the Chicago River. In the late 1960s, as part of an urban renewal project for Old Town, the street was vacated in this area and sold off for development. In recent decades, additional portions of Ogden have been abandoned and vacated. The avenue now ends a ...
