Official Women's Squash World Ranking
The Official Women's Squash World Ranking is the official world ranking for women's squash. The ranking is to rate the performance level of female professional squash player. It is also a merit-based method used for determining entry and seeding in women's squash tournaments. The rankings are produced monthly. The current world number one is Nouran Gohar of Egypt, who replaced Raneem El Welily in July 2020. The WISPA, the WSA and the PSA has used a computerized system for determining the rankings since April 1984. PSA ranking policy Players competing in PSA tournaments earn ranking points according to how far they get in the draw. The points available depend on the prize money and the draw size. The monthly rankings (issued on the 1st of the month) are used in selecting entries to tournaments and in determining the seeds. Squash is a racket-and- ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. There are about 20 million people who play squash regularly world-wide in over 185 countries. The governing body of Squash, the World Squash Federation (WSF), is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), but the sport is not part of the Olympic Games, despite a number of applications. Datuk Nicol Ann David (born August 26, 1983) is a retired female Malaysian professional squash player. Beginning in August 2006, David was the world number one for a record-breaking 108 consecutive months, finally ceding the ranking in September 2015 to Raneem El Weleily. She has won the World Open title a record 8 times in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, as well as the British Open title in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Omneya Abdel Kawy
Omneya Abdel Kawy ( ar, أمنية عبد القوي; born 15 August 1985, in Cairo) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. Career Omneya crowned a successful junior career in 2003 in her home city of Cairo when she became the first Egyptian woman to win a world junior title having won the 2003 World Junior Championship; she had previously been the runner up to Nicol David in 1999 and 2001. Such was already competing on the WISPA Tour during her mid teens. Alison Waters (born 19 March 1984 in London) is a former professional squash player from England. Career As a junior player, Waters won her first major squash tournament – the British Under-12 title – at the age of nine-and-a-half. She retained the title the following year. She was a three-time runner-up at the British Open Under-14 Championships. She won her first professional title in 2005 at the Forbes Open, beating Carla Khan in the final. Tesni Evans
Tesni Evans (born 15 October 1992 in Cardiff) is a professional squash player who represents Wales and is a five time Welsh national squash champion. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No.9 in November 2018, becoming the highest-ranked Welsh woman of all-time and the first to break into the Top 10. Evans has represented Team Wales in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the 2018 Commonwealth Games and in the WSF World Team Championships.
