Offenbacher Kreuz
The is a cloverleaf interchange in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region in the German state of Hesse. The motorway interchange forms the connection between the relatively short north-south A661, and the northwest-southeast A3 that runs from the Dutch border to the Austrian border. Geography The motorway interchange lies within the city limits of Offenbach am Main, after which it is named. Nearby cities and villages are Neu-Isenburg, Frankfurt am Main, Heusenstamm, Dietzenbach, and Dreieich. The interchange lies approximately 5 km south of the city centre of Frankfurt and approximately 5 km southwest of the city centre of Offenbach. To the west is the Frankfurt airport and Frankfurter Kreuz. History The A3 between the exit Frankfurt-Süd and the Offenbacher Kreuz was opened in 1957 and in 1958 lengthened to exit Hanau. The Bundesstraße 3 (abbr. B3) is one of the longest federal highways in Germany. Frankfurter Kreuz
The Frankfurter Kreuz (''Frankfurt Junction'') is an Autobahn interchange in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where the autobahns A3 and A5 meet. The interchange was originally to be built from 1931 to 1933, but due to World War II construction was not finished until 1957. It underwent massive remodeling in the 1990s, as it had been frequently overloaded due to excess traffic. Today, both autobahns have ten lanes. Overview Two tunnels of the Cologne–Frankfurt high-speed rail line have been put below the Kreuz. The Kreuz is situated at the northeastern corner of Frankfurt Airport. Dreieich () is a town in the Offenbach district in the of Darmstadt in Hessen, Germany. The town is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area and is located roughly south of downtown Frankfurt am Main. With a population of more than 40,000 it is the district’s second largest town. Dietzenbach
Dietzenbach is the seat of Offenbach district in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany and lies roughly 12 km southeast of Frankfurt am Main on the waterstream Bieber. Before the Second World War, the current town was a farming village with not quite 4,000 inhabitants. However, after the war, there was a considerable upswing in the population due to refugees settling in the community. From the 1970s onwards, Dietzenbach's population rose rapidly, reaching some 33,000 by 2006. Just under a third of the inhabitants have roots in more than a hundred nations outside Germany. is an autobahn in Germany running from the Germany-Netherlands border near Wesel in the northwest to the Germany-Austria border near Passau. Major cities along its total length of 778 km (483 mi) include Oberhausen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Würzburg, Nuremberg and Regensburg. Bundesautobahn 661
- also called ''Osttangente Frankfurt'' (easttangent Frankfurt) or ''Taunusschnellweg'' - is a 40 km (25 mi) long Autobahn in Germany. It starts in Oberursel and goes along Bad Homburg, Frankfurt am Main, Offenbach am Main and Neu-Isenburg until it is ending in Egelsbach. Today's A 661 was opened with the sections Bad Homburg (today junction 3) and Frankfurt-Bonames (formerly junction 5b). While the road's extension to Oberursel-Nord was easy to build, the construction to Frankfurt-Eckenheim got significantly delayed. There was an interim end between Bonames and Eschersheim near the ''Bonameser Platz''. After many years the extension to the ''Friedberger Landstraße'' followed. The section between Offenbach and Egelsbach was also already constructed, but at this time as a part of the A 49 which was planned as an Autobahn between Kassel and Darmstadt.
