Aje (goddess)
Iyami Aje is a Yoruba term of respect and endearment used to describe a woman of African ancestry who is considered to be an Aje, a woman who wields myriad arcane creative biological, spiritual, and cosmic powers.   Etymology In Yoruba language, ''Ìyá mi'' literally means "my mother". In Yoruba cosmology, the mother's roles as the force of creation and the sustainer of life and existence elevates her to the realm of the divine. Consequently, ''Ìyá mi'' - with alterations in tones - becomes ''Ìyààmi'' or ''Ìyàmi'', which can be translated as "the super-powerful ones" or "My Mysterious Mother." Àjẹ́ is a Yoruba word that signifies the biological and spiritual power of African women that has myriad potential, including but not limited to, powers of elemental, biological and artistic creation; healing; destruction; spiritual and physical development and fortification; and political organization and empowerment. In ''The Architects of Existence: Àjẹ́ in Yoruba Cosmol ...

Nnamdi Oduamadi Chidiebere (born 17 October 1990), also known by his shirt name Odu, is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a forward, currently under contract for Eccellenza club Colleferro. Club career Early career Born in Lagos, Oduamadi started playing football at the local Pepsi Football Academy at the age of 7. Oduamadi spent two seasons in the club's youth system and was a member of the under-20 side who won the Coppa Italia Primavera in 2010, 25 years after the team's last success in the competition. At the beginning of the 2010–11 season, Milan announced to have sold half of the rights to Oduamadi to Genoa in co-ownership for €3.5 million, as part of the deal that saw defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos move the other way. The Nigerian, though, stayed at Milan on loan, being included in the first team squad. He made his officia ...

Ifá
Ifá is a Yoruba religion and system of divination. Its literary corpus is the ''Odu Ifá''. Orunmila is identified as the Grand Priest, as he revealed divinity and prophecy to the world. Babalawos or Iyanifas use either the divining chain known as ''Opele'', or the sacred palm or kola nuts called ''Ikin'', on the wooden divination tray called ''Opon Ifá''. Ifá is practiced throughout the Americas, West Africa, and the Canary Islands, in the form of a complex religious system, and plays a critical role in the traditions of Santería, Candomblé, Palo, Umbanda, Vodou, and other Afro-American faiths, as well as in some traditional African religions. History The 16-principle system has its earliest history in West Africa. Each Niger–Congo-speaking ethnic group that practices it has its own myths of origin; Yoruba religion suggests that it was founded by Orunmila in Ilé-Ifẹ̀ when he initiated himself and then he initiated his students, ''Akoda'' and ''Aseda''.
