Villadiego
Villadiego is a Spanish town and municipality in the comarca of Odra-Pisuerga, in west of the province of Burgos, Castilla y León. It is seat of the comarca of Odra-Pisuerga. It is located 39 kilometres away from Burgos. According to demographic data of 2013, it has a population of 1,637 inhabitants, making it the second largest town in the west of the province. The town was founded by Count Diego Porcelos in the 9th century. It has large monuments around its most historical part of the town, of which a highlight is the Plaza Porticada and its traditional architecture. Comarca del Arlanza is a ''Comarcas of Castile and León, comarca'' located south-east of the province of Burgos in the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is bounded on the north by the Odra-Pisuerga and the Alfoz de Burgos, south by the Ribera del Duero (comarca), Ribera del Duero, on the east by the province of Palencia and west by the Sierra de la Demanda (comarca), Sierra de la Demanda. Castrojeriz
Castrojeriz or Castrogeriz is a locality and municipality located in the province of Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile and León (Spain), the comarca of Odra-Pisuerga, the judicial district of Burgos, head of the town council of the same name and former head of the Castrojeriz judicial district. It is a popular stop along the French Way of the Camino de Santiago or ''The Way of Saint James'', which crosses the city longitudinally for more than 1,500 meters. History The village is located along the Odra River just before it joins the Pisuerga. Castrillo Mota de Judíos is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. The 2004 census (INE) indicated the municipality had a population of 71 inhabitants. History Name The town was originally named ''Castrillo Motajudíos'' ("Jew hill camp") in 1035 when Jews fleeing from a nearby pogrom settled there; it was changed to ''Castrillo Matajudíos'' ("Jew-killer camp") in 1627 during a period of religious persecution of non-Christians in Spain (the Jews had been expelled from Spain in 1492 during the Spanish Inquisition).
