Odessa Film Studio
Odesa Film Studio ( uk, Одеська кіностудія художніх фільмів) is the Ukrainian, formerly Soviet film studio in Odesa, one of the first in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. It is partially owned by a government and supervised by the Department of State property fund of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Culture. Together with Dovzhenko Film Studios they are the only state-owned and major film producers in the country. The studio is located at Frantsuzky bulvar 33 (33 French Boulevard), Odesa, Ukraine. In a close vicinity to it is located a smaller film studio House of Mask. The All-Ukrainian Photo Cinema Administration ( uk, Всеукраїнське фото кіноуправління, translit=Vse-Ukrainske Foto Kino Upravlinnia, or uk, ВУФКУ, translit=VUFKU, label=none) was a cinematographic state monopoly that united the entire film industry in Ukraine (1922–1930). VUFKU was vertically integrated: it controlled production, distribution, and exhibition of films. ''Love's Berries'' (russian: Ягoдка любви, Yagodka lyubvi, uk, Ягідка кохання, Yahidka kokhannia) is a 1926 Soviet comedy film by Ukrainian director Oleksandr Dovzhenko. The film was Dovzhenko's debut, and the screenplay was written in three days. It deals with a dandified barber's attempts to get rid of his "love berry" — his illegitimate offspring. Plot Hairdresser Jean Colbasiuc learns from his girlfriend about an unexpected materialization of their child. Not ready to be a father, the young man tries to get rid of the baby left in his care. Stanislav Govorukhin
Stanislav Sergeyevich Govorukhin (russian: Станислав Сергеевич Говорухин; 29 March 1936 – 14 June 2018) was a Soviet Union, Soviet and Russians, Russian film director, actor, screenwriter, producer and politician. He was named People's Artist of Russia in 2006. His movies often featured detective or adventure plots. Biography Govorukhin was born in Berezniki, Sverdlovsk Oblast (now Perm Krai). His parents divorced before he was born. His father Sergei Georgievich Govorukhin came from Russians, Russian Don Cossacks and was arrested as part of the decossackization genocide campaign started by Yakov Sverdlov. He had been exiled to Siberia where he died around 1938 at the age of 30. His mother Praskovya Afanasievna Glazkova was a tailor. She came from the Volga region, from a simple Russians, Russian family of a village school teacher. She raised Sergei and his sister Inessa by herself and died at the age of 53. Pyotr Chardynin
Pyotr Ivanovich Chardynin (russian: Пётр Иванович Чардынин) ( – 14 August 1934) was a Russian and Soviet film director, screenwriter and actor. One of the pioneers of the film industry in the Russian Empire, Chardynin directed over a hundred silent films during his career. Biography Chardynin was born Pyotr Ivanovich Krasavtsev on 10 February 1873 in Simbirsk, Russian Empire (now Ulyanovsk, Russia). In 1890, he was admitted to the Drama School of Moscow Philharmonic Society, where he studied under Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko from 1891. After graduating, he adopted stage name of Chardynin and started both acting and directing career in provincial Russian theatres in Belgorod, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Uralsk and Vologda. He first began experimenting with short films in 1907. Museum Of The Cinema (Odessa, Ukraine)
The museum of cinema — a section of NUCU (National Union of Cinematography) is located on the Odesa film studio, in a historic mansion in Odesa. Before the revolution, it belonged to Demidovoy – San-Donato family. With more than 10,000 works on display, the museum is a testimony to the history and cinematic activity in Odesa. Here you can find historic materials, from the invention of cinema, to the postmodern, digital and avant garde. A popular attraction, measuring 28 square metres, in one room – explores the invention of the cinema (two years prior to the Brothers Lumière!). These films, by Joseph Timchenko, were produced for a survey and demonstration of FMV, and are the first in the Odesa Film Studios of «Mirograf», «Mizrakh», Borisova, Kharitonova and others.
