Oder
The Oder ( , ; Czech, Lower Sorbian and ; ) is a river in Central Europe. It is Poland's second-longest river in total length and third-longest within its borders after the Vistula and Warta. The Oder rises in the Czech Republic and flows through western Poland, later forming of the border between Poland and Germany as part of the Oder–Neisse line. The river ultimately flows into the Szczecin Lagoon north of Szczecin and then into three branches (the Dziwna, Świna and Peene) that empty into the Bay of Pomerania of the Baltic Sea. Tjaša Oder (born 22 June 1994 in Slovenj Gradec) is a Slovenian swimmer. Oder Dam
The Oder Dam (german: Odertalsperre) is a dam in the Harz mountains of Germany. It lies above Bad Lauterberg in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony and impounds the river Oder. The dam went into service in 1934 after taking 3 years to build. The owner and operator of the Oder Dam is the ''Harzwasserwerke''. Purposes The reservoir serves the following purposes: * Flood protection * Low water regulation * Power generation These functions sometimes create conflicting demands. For flood protection, the reservoir should be as empty as possible; for low water regulation, it is desirable that the reservoir is as full as possible. Szczecin Lagoon ( pl, Zalew Szczeciński, german: Stettiner Haff, since 1945 sometimes also ''Oderhaff'' (Oder lagoon) or ''Pommersches Haff'' (Pomeranian lagoon)) is a lagoon in the Oder estuary, shared by Germany and Poland. It is separated from the Pomeranian Bay of the Baltic Sea by the islands of Usedom and Wolin. Oder (Harz)
The Oder is a river in Lower Saxony, Germany, and a right tributary of the Rhume. Its source is in the Harz mountains, near Sankt Andreasberg. It flows southwest through Bad Lauterberg, Pöhlde and Hattorf am Harz. The Oder flows into the Rhume in Katlenburg-Lindau. Course The Oder rises in the district of Goslar in the heart of the Harz Mountains. Its source is located in the southern part of the Brockenfeld about north of the Achtermannshöhe. The river's source is called the ''Odersprung'' or "Oder Leap." Oder Valley Railway
The Oder Valley Railway (german: Odertalbahn) was a railway line from Scharzfeld via Bad Lauterberg to St. Andreasberg- Silberhütte. It follows the upper course of the river Oder in the West Harz mountains, and was commonly named after it. Geography The line originated at Scharzfeld station, which has not been served by passenger trains since 2005. This station is situated on the standard gauge South Harz Railway, the main line from Northeim to Nordhausen. From Scharzfeld the line made its way to Bad Lauterberg station, then to the more central halt of Bad Lauterberg-Kurpark, followed by Odertal, Sperrluttertal and St. Andreasberg (Silberhütte/West), from where the St. Andreasberg rack railway continued to St. Andreasberg Stadt.
