Odelzhausen is a town and Municipalities of Germany, municipality in the west of the region of "Dachau" (Upper Bavaria). The administrative collectivity of Odelzhausen consists of Odelzhausen and the townships of Sulzemoos and Pfaffenhofen an der Glonn. Odelzhausen is situated along the Bundesautobahn 8, A 8 Autobahn, which connects Munich and Stuttgart. The distance to Augsburg City Centre is 32,4 km (20.1 miles), to Munich City Centre 38,3 km (23.8 miles). No light rail connects it directly to Munich, but three bus lines connect the town with the Dachau station, Dachau and München-Pasing station, Munich-Pasing station. On-demand taxi lines are being phased in to improve public transport. The town celebrated 1200 years of existence in 2014. München-Pasing Station
Munich-Pasing is a railway station with nine platforms situated in the west of Munich. It is the third-largest station in Munich, after München Hauptbahnhof and München Ost. History When the first Munich railway was built from Munich to Lochhausen on the western outskirts of Munich in 1839, a station with two wooden huts was built in the municipality of Pasing. The line was completed to Augsburg on 7 October 1840. In 1847, back stone station building designed by Friedrich Bürklein was built on the southern side of the railway tracks in Pasing. Bürklein also designed the Munich Central Station (''Hauptbahnhof''), the Maximilianeum and the brickwork of the Maximilianstraße. The station building, a two-story building with two wings and a waiting room is the oldest surviving railway station in Bavaria. The line to Starnberg was opened on 21 May 1854. Bundesautobahn 8
is an autobahn in southern Germany that runs 497 km (309 mi) from the Luxembourg A13 motorway at Schengen via Neunkirchen, Pirmasens, Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Stuttgart, Ulm, Augsburg and Munich to the Austrian West Autobahn near Salzburg. The A8 is a significant east–west transit route. Its construction began in March 1934 during Nazi rule as a ''Reichsautobahn'', the section between Karlsruhe and Salzburg having been completed by the time road works were discontinued in World War II. Although most parts have been modernized and extended since, significant sections remain in their original configuration from the 1930s - 2+2 lanes, no emergency lanes, steep hills and tight curves. In combination with today's traffic this makes the A8 one of the most crowded and dangerous autobahns in Germany. Especially in winter the slopes of the Black Forest, the Swabian Alb near Aichelberg, as well as the Irschenberg become bottlenecks when heavy trucks traverse the A8 uphill. ... Dachau Station
Dachau station (german: Dachau Bahnhof) is a station in the Bavarian town of Dachau on the Munich S-Bahn network. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station and it has five platform tracks. It is served daily by about 190 trains operated by Deutsche Bahn, including 150 S-Bahn trains. Dachau station is on the Nuremberg–Munich high-speed railway and is the beginning of the Dachau–Altomünster railway. Dachau Stadt (town) station is on the Dachau–Altomünster Railway. Location Dachau station is located southeast of the town of Dachau. The station building is located to the west of the tracks and has the address of Bahnhofplatz 1.
