Oddbjørn Engvold (born 7 April 1938) is a Norwegian astronomer. He was born in Askim. His specialty is solar physics, and he was appointed as a professor at the University of Oslo in 1989. Odd-Bjørn Fure
Odd-Bjørn Fure (5 March 1942 – 22 December 2022) was a Norwegian historian and political scientist. He was born at Stadlandet, and was a brother of politician Julius Fure (1931–2006). His main studies were in comparative politics, but he switched field with a 1983 doctoral thesis on the history of the Norwegian labour movement between 1918 and 1920. He had not previously studied history. After having had several positions, Fure became professor in modern history at the University of Bergen from 1998 to 2002. He was then appointed director of research at the Norwegian Center for Studies of Holocaust and Religious Minorities. From 2002 to 2004 Fure was editor of '' Historisk Tidsskrift'', a Norwegian journal for scientific historical research. He was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Oddbjørn Hågård
Oddbjørn Hågård (14 July 1940 – 20 February 2013) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. Born in Ørland, Hågård took commerce school in 1958, agricultural school in 1962 and artium in 1963. He then enrolled in higher education, graduating from the Norwegian College of Agriculture in 1966. He was a schoolteacher for two years before being hired as municipal agronomist in Åfjord, where he stayed until 1972. He was elected to Åfjord municipal council in 1971 before moving away. He was the municipal agronomist in Røros from 1972 to 1974, and was then hired as livestock consultant in Ørland and Bjugn. From 1980 to 1985 and 1989 to 1994 he was again municipal agronomist, now in Ørland. While living here was elected into local politics again, serving as mayor of Ørland from 1975 to 1983. Oddbjørn Hagen (3 February 1908 – 25 June 1983) was a Norwegian skier who competed in nordic combined and cross-country skiing. He was both Olympic and World champion. Olympic Games At the 1936 Winter Olympics, Hagen won one gold in the Nordic combined and two silvers in cross-country skiing. The cross-country relay event saw its first Olympic appearance in 1936. Hagen had the first leg, and finished his leg one minute ahead of Finland's Sulo Nurmela, with Sweden's John Berger fifteen seconds further behind. Kalle Jalkanen on the final leg secured Finland the relay victory, six seconds before the Norwegian team. The 18 kilometre cross-country skiing race was also the first part of the Nordic combined. Odd-Bjørn Hjelmeset
Odd-Bjørn Hjelmeset (born 6 December 1971 in Nordfjordeid) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier who competed from 1993 to 2012. A classical technique specialist, Hjelmeset's biggest success is the gold medal in the 50 km event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo. At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships he won eight medals (all in the classical style). This includes five gold medals (50 km: 2007, 4 × 10 km relay: 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009) and three bronze medals (1999: 10 km, 2001: 15 km, and 2005: 50 km). Hjelmeset has also competed on the national level in athletics, and won the bronze medal at the Norwegian championships in the 3000 metre steeplechase in 1996 and 1999. Oddbjørn Karmhus Nordset (born 25 March 1946) is a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Centre Party. He took an agricultural education, graduating from the Norwegian College of Agriculture with the cand.agric. degree in 1973. Before enrolling at the Norwegian College of Agriculture, he was a secretary for the Centre Party in Nord-Trøndelag. After three years as a consultant in the Ministry of Agriculture from 1973 to 1976, Nordset was appointed as a county agronomist in Nord‑Trøndelag. Then, after a period from 1983 to 1986 as State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, he was promoted to chief county agronomist. He remained in this post until 1991, when he served for two years as acting County Governor of Nord-Trøndelag. He was then the Assisting County Governor from 1994 to 2002 and 2003 to 2008. Oddbjørn Snøfugl (2 October 1941 – 14 December 2022) was a Norwegian school principal politician for the Centre Party. He grew up in Buvika at the Snøfugl farm. Not wanting a career as a farmer, he took the examen artium at Orkdal landsgymnas, tried working as a teacher in Bangsund and enrolled at the Norwegian Teachers' College.
