Odd Isøy
Odd E. Isøy (1923/1924 – 1983) was a Norwegian resistance member. Among others, he single-handedly placed explosives on the crane of the 3,215-ton Norwegian cargo ship MS ''Belpamela''. World War II During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany Isøy was a member of Milorg and their group for sabotage missions, Aks 13000. Of the 102 sabotage missions performed by Aks 13000, Isøy participated in 15, the highest number for a single person according to Per Røed. Per Røed himself is an exception here. One of the notable missions in which Isøy participated was the sabotage against the garage belonging to the company Freia. The goal was to blow up the workshop for repairing aircraft parts with of dynamite and some plastic explosives. The dynamite was split in two packs, and Odd Isøy brought one pack to Freia via bicycle. The Norwegian resistance (Norwegian: ''Motstandsbevegelsen'') to the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany began after Operation Weserübung in 1940 and ended in 1945. Tønsberg
Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg. The city is the most populous metropolis in the district of Vestfold with a population of 52,419 in 2019. Sandefjord () is a city and the most populous municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The municipality of Sandefjord was established on 1 January 1838. The municipality of Sandar was merged into Sandefjord on 1 January 1969. Framnæs shipyard (Framnæs mekaniske Værksted) was a former Norwegian shipbuilding and engineering firm headquartered in Sandefjord, in Vestfold county, Norway. Originally strongly linked to the whaling industry, in later years it entered into more versatile shipbuilding, including rigs and modules for the offshore business. It was incorporated in 1898 and was closed down in 1986. History ''A/S Framnæs mek Værksted'' has its origins from three earlier shipyards. The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito is a British twin-engined, shoulder-winged, multirole combat aircraft, introduced during the Second World War. Unusual in that its frame was constructed mostly of wood, it was nicknamed the "Wooden Wonder", or "Mossie". ''Hirden'' (the ''hird'') was a uniformed paramilitary organisation during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, modelled the same way as the German Sturmabteilungen. Overview Vidkun Quisling's fascist party Nasjonal Samling frequently used words and symbols from the old Norse Viking era. During the Second World War, membership was compulsory for all Nasjonal Samling members. In total, about 8,500 Norwegians were members of ''Hirden'' during the war. The organisation was dissolved after the liberation, and many of its former members were prosecuted and convicted for treason and collaboration. Statspolitiet
(; shortened STAPO) was from 1941 to 1945 a National Socialist armed police force that consisted of Norwegian officials after Nazi German pattern. It operated independently of the ordinary Norwegian police. The force was established on 1 June 1941 during the German occupation of Norway. The initiative for the force came from the later chief Karl Marthinsen and other prominent members of the collaborationist party Nasjonal Samling. At its peak, in 1944 there were 350 employees in Statspolitiet, in addition to a larger number who collaborated or rendered services for them. Drammen Station (''Drammen stasjon'') is a railway station located in downtown Drammen in Buskerud, Norway.
