Odd Engström
Odd Erik Lennart Engström (20 September 1941 – 18 May 1998) was a politician of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. He was born in Silbodal, Årjäng, Värmland County, Sweden and was educated at University of Uppsala. Engström served as one of two State Secretaries (the other was Ulf Larsson) to Prime Minister Olof Palme 1982–1983. From 1983 he served as Finance Secretary of Stockholm Municipality. From 1988 to 1990 he served as deputy Minister for Finance (Minister for Budget), and was the acting Minister for Finance for a short time in February 1990, after Kjell-Olof Feldt resigned. Engström then served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden from 1990 to 1991. After the electoral loss of 1991, he was a member of the Parliament of Sweden from 1991 to 1993, when he resigned from his seat. The Swedish Social Democratic Party, formally the Swedish Social Democratic Workers' Party ( sv, Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti ; S/SAP), usually referred to as The Social Democrats ( sv, link=no, Socialdemokraterna ), is a social-democratic political party in Sweden. MS Estonia
MS ''Estonia'' was a cruiseferry built in 1980 at the West German shipyard Meyer Werft in Papenburg. In 1993, she was sold to Nordström & Thulin for use on Estline's Tallinn–Stockholm route. The ship's sinking on 28 September 1994, in the Baltic Sea between Sweden, Finland and Estonia, was one of the worst peacetime maritime disasters of the 20th century, claiming 852 lives. The official report concluded that the bow door had separated from the vessel, pulling the ramp ajar. The ship was already listing because of poor cargo distribution, and the list increased rapidly, flooding the decks and the cabins. Shortly, power failed altogether, inhibiting search and rescue, and a full-scale emergency was not declared for 90 minutes. Of the 989 on board, 138 were rescued. Jutta Rabe
Jutta Rabe (born 1955) is a German journalist and a former treasurer of the Berlin chapter of the German Federation of Journalists. Life Jutta Rabe studied economy and journalism. She worked as a freelancer for the German TV-magazine Spiegel-TV for a number of years, as well as for Focus TV, ZDF, ARTE and NDR. Her book, ''Die Estonia: Tragödie eines Schiffsuntergangs'' (, ), about the alleged cover-up of the true cause of the September 1994 M/S Estonia passenger ferry disaster, was made into the 2003 film ''Baltic Storm''. The video footage of her group's diving expedition to the Estonia shipwreck allegedly reveals holes in the ship's hull, suggesting that explosives played a role in the tragedy. Värmland () also known as Wermeland, is a '' landskap'' (historical province) in west-central Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Dalsland, Dalarna, Västmanland, and Närke, and is bounded by Norway in the west. Jan Hugo Robert Arne Stenbeck (; 14 November 1942 – 19 August 2002) was a Swedish business leader, media pioneer, sailor and financier.
