Oceanside Surf
The Oceanside Surf (formerly known as the San Diego Surf) are a semi-professional basketball team in the American Basketball Association (ABA) based in Oceanside, California, and began play in 2009. The Surf was previously a member of the ABA's Far West division and its home arena was the HourGlass Arena at Miramar College in San Diego. In 2022, the team announced a rebrand to the Oceanside Surf. History Before the formation of the San Diego Surf, the city's ABA team had been the San Diego Wildcats, who stopped playing in 2009. The San Diego Surf was formed and held its first tryouts later that year under head coach Terry Mason, and began playing in late 2009. Basketball Teams In San Diego
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Michael Gomez (rapper)
Michael Gomez (born Michael Armstrong; 21 June 1977) is a former professional boxer who competed from 1995 to 2009. He was born to an Irish Traveller family in Longford, Ireland, spending his early years in Dublin before moving to London and later Manchester, England, with his family at the age of nine. In boxing he was affectionately known as "The Predator", "The Irish Mexican" and "The Mancunian Mexican". Despite finishing his career fighting in the lightweight division, Gomez is more notable for his fights at featherweight and super-featherweight. Glen Dandridge (born July 16, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Missouri and Lambuth University before having a seven-year professional career. High school career After averaging 23 points per game as a sophomore at Goochland High School in Goochland, Virginia, Dandridge transferred to Mount Zion Christian Academy in Durham, North Carolina, for his junior and senior years. Camp Pendleton
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is the major West Coast base of the United States Marine Corps and is one of the largest Marine Corps bases in the United States. ''Tryout'' was an amateur press journal published from 1914 to 1946 by Charles W. Smith of Haverhill, Massachusetts. It was connected to the National Amateur Press Association. Smith (1852–1948) was a friend and correspondent of H. P. Lovecraft; ''Tryout'' was the first outlet for the H. P.
