Occidozyga Sumatrana
The Sumatran puddle frog (''Occidozyga sumatrana'') is a species of frog in the family Dicroglossidae. It might be endemic to Indonesia. However, it has often been confused with '' Occidozyga laevis'', and was also for long considered to be its junior synonym. Its known distribution is restricted to Sumatra and Java, as well as Sipora and Simeulue islands. The true distribution of this species is therefore poorly known but likely to be wider (perhaps from India through Malaysia to southern China). Its natural habitats are tropical moist lowland forests, rivers, intermittent freshwater marshes, and canals and ditches. It is threatened by habitat loss. However it has most recently been reported in Singapore Singapore (), officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island country and city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. Occidozyga Diminutiva
The small-headed frog or tiny oriental frog (''Occidozyga diminutiva'') is a species of frog in the family Dicroglossidae. It is endemic to the Philippines where it is found on Mindanao (including Mount Malindang), Basilan, and in the Sulu Archipelago. Description ''Occidozyga diminutiva'' is a small stocky frog, not exceeding in body length. Skin of back and head is smooth or faintly shagreened. Tympanum is completely hidden or with only anterior rim visible. Toes are incompletely webbed and nostrils are lateral (these characters can be used to distinguish it from '' Occidozyga laevis'' with completely webbed toes and superior nostrils). Males have a nuptial pad in their hands and paired subgular vocal sacs; with mean snout–vent length of , they also appear to be smaller than females. Habitat Its habitats are streams and quiet pools of water in undisturbed and disturbed lowland forests. This common frog is declining; it is threatened by habitat loss Habitat destruction ... Amphibian Genera
Amphibians are four-limbed and ectothermic vertebrates of the class Amphibia. All living amphibians belong to the group Lissamphibia. They inhabit a wide variety of habitats, with most species living within terrestrial, fossorial, arboreal or freshwater aquatic ecosystems. Thus amphibians typically start out as larvae living in water, but some species have developed behavioural adaptations to bypass this. The young generally undergo metamorphosis from larva with gills to an adult air-breathing form with lungs. Amphibians use their skin as a secondary respiratory surface and some small terrestrial salamanders and frogs lack lungs and rely entirely on their skin. They are superficially similar to reptiles like lizards but, along with mammals and birds, reptiles are amniotes and do not require water bodies in which to breed. With their complex reproductive needs and permeable skins, amphibians are often ecological indicators; in recent decades there has been a dramatic ... ''Occidozyga tompotika'' is a species of frog in the family Dicroglossidae. It is endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it is known from the Balantak Mountains in the Central Sulawesi Province. It is named after Mount Tompotika, its type locality. Description Based on seven specimens, adult ''Occidozyga tompotika'' measure between in snout–vent length. The body is robust and plump. Males are slightly smaller than females and have some secondary sexual characters including enlarged thenar tubercle at the dorsal surface of first finger and paired vocal sac, but are similar to females in body proportions.
