Obren Joksimović
Obren Joksimović (; 15 May 1952 – 13 March 2021) was a Serbian surgeon and politician who served as Minister of Health in the Government of Serbia from 25 January 2001 to 22 October 2001. Biography Joksimović was born on 15 May 1952 to a Bosnian Serb family in Očevlje, at that time part of PR Bosnia and Herzegovina and FPR Yugoslavia. He graduated in 1979 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, and specialized in general surgery in 1988. During the Bosnian War, he participated as a volunteer on numerous battlefields as a war surgeon of the Army of Republika Srpska and at the same time he was a member of the Federal Assembly of FR Yugoslavia as a member of the Serbian Renewal Movement (since 1992). In 1995, angry and dissatisfied, Joksimović resigned from the parliament and joined the Democratic Party of Serbia together with several other party colleagues. Obren Petrović
Obren Petrović (born 11 May 1957) is Bosnian Serb politician and former mayor of Doboj. Biography Petrović finished elementary and high school in Doboj and graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences Zagreb with M.A. in political science. During most of his working life, Petrović worked at the Doboj Police Station and he was head of the Civil Protection Department of the Doboj Municipality until his appointment as Mayor of the Municipality in 2002. The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska adopted in July 2012 the Law on the City of Doboj, which Doboj ceased to be a municipality and acquired the status of the City, thus making Obren Petrović the first Mayor of Doboj. Obren Pjevović
Obren Pjevović ( sr, Обрен Пјевовић) (1919, in Donja Gorevnica, Čačak, Kingdom of SHS – 4 January 1991, in Mrčajevci, Čačak, Serbia, Yugoslavia) was a Serbian songwriter and composer who wrote more than 170 songs, some of them part of the important cultural heritage of traditional Serbian folk songs of Šumadija. Family The Pjevović family descend from the Rajović family from Montenegro. The Rajović family is named after their earliest known ancestor, Rajo. In the 18th century a branch of Rajović family moved from Montenegro to Prilike in Ottoman Serbia. At that time one of family members, Rajo Rajović was known as a good singer ( sr, pjevač), so Ottomans referred to him as Pjevo. Ottoman subashi from Zlatibor often requested Pjevo to be brought to sing to his field workers, to encourage them to work better. Obrenović Dynasty
The House of Obrenović ( sr-Cyrl, Обрeновић, Obrenovići / Обреновићи, ) was a Serbian dynasty that ruled Serbia from 1815 to 1842, and again from 1858 to 1903. They came to power through the leadership of their progenitor Miloš Obrenović I in the Serbian Uprising of 1815–1817 against the Ottoman Empire, which led to the formation of the Principality of Serbia in 1817. The Obrenović dynasty were traditionally allied with Austria-Hungary and opposed the Russian-supported Karađorđević dynasty. The family's rule came to an end in a coup d’état by the military conspirators, often known today as the Black Hand, who invaded the royal palace and murdered King Alexander I, who died without an heir. Obrenovac
Obrenovac ( sr-cyr, Обреновац, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2011 census results, the municipality has a population of 71,419 inhabitants, while the urban area has 24,568 inhabitants. The largest Serbian thermal power plant TPP Nikola Tesla is located on the outskirts of the municipality. Obrenovac was also submerged and completely evacuated during the 2014 Southeast Europe floods.
