Obouo Productions also referred as Obouo Music and Obouo Media is a record label from France founded in Beaumaris, Gwynedd by Ivorian producer David Monsoh and his partner Barbara Kahan on April 14, 2011. History Obouo Productions was created Obouo Productions Ltd. and originally founded on January 20, 2003, by Ivorian producer David Monsoh and his brother Eulalie Monsoh, but 8 years later David relaunched again in 2011 in United Kingdom, UK. The company has created other branch called Obouo Media in 2013 that is based on production of cinematographic films, videos, television programs, sound recording and music editing. Soukous
Soukous (from French '' secousse'', "shock, jolt, jerk") is a genre of dance music from Congo-Kinshasa and Congo-Brazzaville. It derived from Congolese rumba in the 1960s, becoming known for its fast dance rhythms and intricate guitar improvisation, and gained popularity in the 1980s in France. Although often used by journalists as a synonym for Congolese rumba, both the music and dance associated with soukous differ from more traditional rumba, especially in its higher tempo and longer dance sequences. Notable performers of the genre include Franco Luambo and his band TPOK Jazz, Papa Wemba, Sam Mangwana, Tabu Ley Rochereau, and Pépé Kallé. David Amako Monsoh (born June 26, 1973), known as David Monsoh is an Ivorian record producer the founder of Obouo Productions and the Co-founder of Black in France and Africa. He is the origin of the success by most famous African musicians including Nayanka Bell, and many more. Beaumaris ( ; cy, Biwmares ) is a town and community on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, of which it is the former county town of Anglesey. Barbara Joan Kahan OBE born Barbara Joan Langridge (18 March 1920 – 6 August 2000) was a British social worker. She rose to chair the National Children's Bureau and to co-chair the Pindown Enquiry. Description Kahan was born in Horsted Keynes in 1920. Her parents, Alfred George and Emily Kathleen Langridge were Methodists and keen on reading. Her father was to become a railway station master. Her family believed in working for their community but it was at Barbara's prompting that she gained an adopted sister who was a Jewish girl escaping persecution in Europe. Kahan studied English literature at Newnham College, Cambridge between 1939 and 1942, where she was active in politics. Ange Didier Houon (26 January 1986 – 12 August 2019), known professionally as DJ Arafat, Arafat Muana and various other stage names, was an Ivorian DJ and singer who made music in the Coupé-Décalé genre. "Jonathan", "202", "Dosabado", "Kpangor", "Zoropoto" and "Enfant Beni" were some of his major hits. He was popular in French-speaking countries in Africa. He at one time was a member of legendary Congolese bands, Wenge Musica Maison Mère and Quartier Latin International. Fally Ipupa N'simba (born December 14, 1977), known by his stage name Fally Ipupa, is a Congolese singer-songwriter, dancer, philanthropist, guitarist and producer. From 1999 until 2006, he was a member of Quartier Latin International, the music band formed in 1986 by Koffi Olomidé. Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba (13 July 1956), known professionally as Koffi Olomidé, is a Congolese Soukus singer, dancer, producer, and composer. He has had several gold records in his career. He is the founder of the Quartier Latin International orchestra with many notable artists, including Fally Ipupa and Ferré Gola. Background Olomide was born on 13 July 1956 in Kisangani, DRC.
