James Edward Oberg (born November 7, 1944) is an American space journalist and historian, regarded as an expert on the Russian and Chinese space programs. He had a 22-year career as a space engineer in NASA specializing in orbital rendezvous. Oberg is an author of ten books and more than a thousand articles on space flight. He gave many explanations of UFO phenomena in the popular press. He is also a consultant in spaceflight operations and safety. Scott Michael Oberg (born March 13, 1990) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He currently serves as a special assistant to baseball operations for the Colorado Rockies. Evan Oberg (born February 16, 1988) is a Canadian retired ice hockey defenceman. He played 7 games in the National Hockey League with the Vancouver Canucks and Tampa Bay Lightning between 2010 and 2012. The rest of his career, which lasted from 2009 to 2019, was mainly spent in the minor American Hockey League, though he also spent one season in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Lyle Oberg
Lyle Knute Oberg (born January 6, 1960) is an Albertan politician and former member of the Legislative Assembly. He is also a physician and business executive. Life and career Oberg was born near Forestburg, Alberta in 1960. A physician by profession, Oberg was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as a Progressive Conservative in 1993. He was first appointed to the Alberta Cabinet in 1997 and served numerous posts. Oberg was appointed Minister of Family and Social Services in March 1997. Carl Oberg
Carl Oberg (27 January 1897 – 3 June 1965) was a German SS functionary during the Nazi era. He served as Senior SS and Police Leader (HSSPF) in occupied France, from May 1942 to November 1944, during the Second World War, Oberg came to be known as the Butcher of Paris. From May 1942, under orders from Reinhard Heydrich, Oberg ordered the execution of hundreds of hostages and the roundup and deportation of over 40,000 Jews from France to extermination camps, most infamously during the Vel' d'Hiv Roundup with the assistance of the Vichy French police. Arrested by American military police in Tyrol in July 1945, Oberg was sentenced to death by two different courts: British and French before being handed over to the French. In 1958 his death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment and later reduced to 20 years hard labour. Oberg was eventually released on 28 November 1962 and pardoned by President Charles de Gaulle. She won her first competition at the age of 11, won her first world title at 15, and became the first professional female surfer in 1975. Dawn Oberg is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Her music is influenced by multiple genres, including jazz and cabaret. Career Oberg was born and grew up in Minnesota, where she wrote her first song at the age of 14. She later wrote what she called "perverse drinking songs" throughout her twenties. She attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, after which she moved to Nashville in the mid-1990s. Metta Von Oberg
Anna Metta von Oberg (November 10, 1737 – October 25, 1794) was a German Baroness and close friend to Augusta Louise zu Stolberg-Stolberg. Von Oberg was born in Jersbek, Duchy of Holstein, and lived in the period from 1762 to 1794 in the monastery of Uetersen. There she met Augusta Louise zu Stolberg-Stolberg. After they left the monastery, they lived together in a small apartment south of the monastery. Although Metta was 15 years older, they were linked in a deep friendship. She also played a part in the heart of the friendship between Augusta Louise and the poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Ilsede is a municipality in the district of Peine, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Fuhse, approx. 7 km south of Peine, and 20 km west of Braunschweig.
