Oak Hill High School (previously known as Collins High School) is a high school located in Oak Hill, West Virginia. Its mascot is the Red Devil. On September 6, 2016, a special state committee voted to split the student body of Valley High School (Smithers, West Virginia), Valley High School between Riverside High School (West Virginia), Riverside High School and Oak Hill, and to close Fayetteville High School and send that student body to Oak Hill. Oak Hill is a city in Fayette County, West Virginia, United States and is the primary city within the Oak Hill, WV Micropolitan Statistical Area. The micropolitan area is also included in the Beckley-Oak Hill, WV Combined Statistical Area. The population was 7,730 at the 2010 census. The city is also home to the historic Oak Hill Railroad Depot which still stands today as an artisan shop. Country singer Hank Williams died in Oak Hill on his way to a concert on January 1, 1953. Riverside High School is the largest high school in Kanawha County, and is located in Belle, West Virginia, United States. History The school opened in 1999 as a result of the consolidation of DuPont High School (AAA) in Dupont City and East Bank High School (AA) in East Bank.
