O Canada (TV Series)
''O Canada'' is an animated television anthology series, broadcast in the United States on Cartoon Network. ''O Canada'' was the first Canadian cartoon series to air on Cartoon Network. The show also frequently aired in Canada on Teletoon, but not as much as it did in the United States on Cartoon Network. Shown mainly on Sunday nights (early Monday mornings) at 12:00 midnight Eastern Time Zone, ET, ''O Canada'' featured a selection of animated shorts from Canada, mostly from the archives of the National Film Board of Canada. Some of the animated shorts featured were part of the NFB's ''Canada Vignettes'' collection of shorts first produced for CBC Television. The title of the series originated from the name of Canada's national anthem, "O Canada". Sally Grace
Sally Grace (born 10 September 1951) is an English actress who has worked extensively on radio and television and in animation. Life and career Grace was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, and trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She was a member of the team on ''Week Ending'', the BBC Radio 4 topical satirical sketch show, where she was the voice of Margaret Thatcher from 1983 onwards, remaining until the series ended in 1998. Her work with Ken Bruce on Radio 2's ''What If Show'' led ''The Independent on Sunday'' to describe her as "the best impressionist in the business". She voiced the part of Elena in BBC Radio 4's adaptions of ''Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency'' and ''The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul''. ''The Cat Came Back'' is a 1988 Canadian animated short film by Cordell Barker, produced by fellow award-winning animator Richard Condie in Winnipeg for the National Film Board of Canada. It is based on the children's song "The Cat Came Back" by Harry S. Miller. It was in theaters with Touchstone's ''Who Framed Roger Rabbit''. Nudity is the state of being in which a human is without clothing. The loss of body hair was one of the physical characteristics that marked the biological evolution of modern humans from their hominin ancestors. Adaptations related to hairlessness contributed to the increase in brain size, bipedalism, and the variation in human skin color. ''Blackfly'' is a 1991 Canadian animated short from Christopher Hinton, produced by the National Film Board of Canada and based on " The Black Fly Song" by Wade Hemsworth. It was nominated for an Academy Award and Genie Award for Best Animated Short. The song is performed in the film by Hemsworth with back-up vocals from Kate & Anna McGarrigle. ''The Big Snit'' is a 1985 animated short film written and directed by Richard Condie and produced by the National Film Board of Canada. Plot A married couple plays a game of Scrabble that has stalemated as the husband is unable to come up with a word. The two go their separate ways; he watches his favourite TV show, "Sawing for Teens," while his wife works on cleaning the house. While the husband dozes off, "Sawing for Teens" is interrupted by the emergency warning: a severe worldwide nuclear war has broken out, and the cat severs the TV's electrical cord. As the husband awakens, he looks out the window to see that the streets have descended into chaos, and he returns to the game board, unaware of the global cataclysm, and sneaking a peek at his wife's letters.
