OSCE Mission In Kosovo
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo (OMiK) is a field mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe operating in Kosovo. The mission was deployed in July 1999 to support the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) in the field of democratisation, institution building and human rights in Kosovo. Mandate The mandate of the mission was set out in OSCE Permanent Council Decision No. 305 of 1 July 1999. The mission forms one of the pillars of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo relating to democratisation, institution building and human rights. The core objectives as mandated were to establish a police school to train officers for a new Kosovo Police Service, to train members of the judiciary, to organise and monitor elections, to support the development civil society, non-governmental organisations and political parties, to establish an Ombudsman institution and to monitor and protect human rights. Michael Davenport (diplomat)
Michael Sean Davenport (born 13 September 1968) is an American musician. Davenport was bass guitarist for The Ataris, joining the band in 1997 prior to the album '' Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits'' in which Davenport co-wrote the song "In Spite of the World". He also played bass on the album '' End Is Forever'' and the EP ''Look Forward to Failure'' on Fat Wreck Chords. After numerous recordings, tours, and a major label release with The Ataris, '' So Long Astoria'' in which he co-wrote the song "The Hero Dies in this One" about his father Francis Davenport, who died in a car accident in Santa Barbara county when Davenport was just 19 years old. Organization For Security And Co-operation In Europe
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the world's largest regional security-oriented intergovernmental organization with observer status at the United Nations. Its mandate includes issues such as arms control, promotion of human rights, freedom of the press, and free and fair elections. It employs around 3,460 people, mostly in its field operations but also in its secretariat in Vienna, Austria, and its institutions. The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) is the officially mandated mission of the United Nations in Kosovo. The Kosovo Police ( sq, Policia e Kosovës, sr-Cyrl, Полиција Косова, sr-Latn, Policija Kosova) is the national police, policing law enforcement agency of Kosovo. Parliamentary elections to the Assembly of Kosovo ( sq, Kuvendi i Kosovës, Serbian Cyrillic: , transliterated ) have been held four times since 1999 with the latest in December 2010. The Assembly was an institution within the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government (PISG) established by the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) to provide 'provisional, democratic self-government' in advance of a decision on the final status of Kosovo. Urs Christian Timotheus Guldimann known as Tim Guldimann (born September 19, 1950) is a Swiss former diplomat and retired politician. Since 2021 he additionally holds German citizenship. Guldimann served in several posts representing Switzerland, including in Iran, where he served as a liaison between the country and the United States.
