ORB Fernsehen
RBB Brandenburg (until May 2003 ORB-Fernsehen) was the third television channel for Brandenburg, (Germany) from January 1992 to March 2004. Until May 2003, it was organized by Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB), then by its successor, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB). On 1 March 2004, the two regional television channels of RBB – ''RBB Brandenburg'' and ''RBB Berlin'' – were integrated into the new rbb Fernsehen. In the initial build-up phase, the then ARD (broadcaster), ARD cultural television programme Eins Plus was taken over from 3 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. and after 9 pm, and for cost reasons there were initially only a few programmes of its own in the programme. ARD (broadcaster)
ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services – in particular the introduction of a joint television network. The ARD has a budget of €6.9 billion, 22,612 employees and is the largest public broadcaster network in the world. The budget comes primarily from a licence fee which every household, company and public institution are required by law to pay. For an ordinary household the fee is currently €18.36 per month. Households living on welfare are exempt from the fee. The fees are not collected directly by the ARD, but by the Beitragsservice (formerly known as Gebühreneinzugszentrale GEZ), a common organisation of the ARD member broadcasters, the second public TV broadcaster ZDF, and Deutschlandradio. Kowalski & Schmidt is a German-Polish television magazine with topics from everyday life, culture, politics, science and the social sector, is jointly presented by Adriana Rozwadowska and Martin Adam alternately in Germany and Poland. First broadcast was on January 3, 1993, on ORB Fernsehen of Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) under the title ''Kowalski & Co'', between March 1995 and the end of 2011 as ''Kowalski trifft Schmidt''. It moved in 2001 from the ORB to the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR), where it ran at MDR Fernsehen until the end of 2011. Astra 1B was the second of the Astra communications satellites launched and operated by SES (Société Européenne des Satellites) to add extra capacity to the satellite television (direct broadcasting) services from 19.2° East, serving Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Satcom K3 SES bought the satellite in 1989 from failed direct broadcast satellite (DBS) company Crimson Satellite Associates while still under construction by GE Astro Space (as Satcom K3). Twelve years later, in 2001, SES acquired GE Americom, which originally was to operate the Satcom K3 satellite (and was itself the result of General Electric's purchase of RCA Corporation in 1986) and renamed it "SES Americom". Analog recording is a technique used for the recording of analog signals which, among many possibilities, allows analog audio for later playback. Analog audio recording began with mechanical systems such as the phonautograph and phonograph. Later, electronic techniques such as wire and tape recording were developed. Analog recording methods store analog signals directly in or on the media. The signal may be stored as a physical texture on a phonograph record, or a fluctuation in the field strength of a magnetic recording. Analog transmission methods use analog signals to distribute audio content. These are in contrast to digital audio where an analog signal is sampled and quantized to produce a digital signal which is represented, stored and transmitted as discrete numbers.
