Omladinski košarkaški klub Vrbas ( sr-cyrl, Омладински кошаркашки клуб Врбас; ), commonly referred to as OKK Vrbas or KK Vrbas, is a men's basketball club based in Vrbas, Serbia. They are currently competing in the Second Basketball League of Serbia. History The club finished at the top spot in the 2019–20 season with a 17–1 record prior the cancellation of the season. After the abandoned season, the club got promoted to the Second Basketball League of Serbia for the 2020–21 season. Second Men's League of Serbia ( sr-cyr, Друга мушка лига Србије, Druga muška liga Srbije), previously Basketball League of Serbia B, is the second-tier level men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, has 14 teams. From the 2012–13 season, the top two teams in Second League goes to First League of Serbia. The teams positioned 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th in Second will be relegated to the 3td tier – First Men's Regional League. Vrbas ( sr-Cyrl, Врбас; hu, Verbász) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2011, the town had a population of 24,112, while the municipality had 42,092 inhabitants. Name Its name stems from the word "Willow" in the Serbian language. During the SFRY period, the town was renamed ''Titov Vrbas'' (meaning "the Vrbas of Tito"), after Josip Broz Tito. Like all other towns in Socialist Yugoslavia named after Tito, the first part was dropped once the new states were formed during the early 1990s. The 2020–21 Second Men's League of Serbia is the 15th season of the Second Basketball League of Serbia, the 2nd-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. The season is the first to be played after the previous season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Serbia. The Serbian basketball league system, or Serbian basketball league pyramid is a series of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Serbia. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and demotion system between competitions at different levels.
