''OK, Il Prezzo è Giusto!'' ("OK! The Price Is Right") is the Italian adaptation of the American game show '' The Price Is Right'' that aired on Italia 1, Canale 5 and Rete 4. It was hosted by Gigi Sabani, Iva Zanicchi, Emanuela Folliero and Maria Teresa Ruta with the first version being hosted by a man (Sabani) then the later three versions were hosted by women (Zanicchi, Folliero and Ruta respectively) with Zanicchi being the longest-running to hold the title for 13 years. It first premiered on 21 December 1983 and went off the air on 13 April 2001. With 3,466 episodes it is the third longest running quiz on Italian TV, after ''L'eredità'' (''The Inheritance'') and ''La Ruota Della Fortuna'' (''The Wheel of Fortune''). The show used similar gameplay format to the American version, although at the two last seasons altered the format to use the British One-Player showcase format. Augusto Martelli
Augusto Martelli (15 March 1940 – 3 November 2014) was an Italian composer, conductor, arranger and television personality. Born in Genoa, the son of conductor and composer Giordano Bruno Martelli, Martelli is probably best known for the song ''Djamballà'', the theme song of the 1970 film ''Il dio serpente'', which reached the first position in the Italian charts. He is also well known for his romantic and professional relationship with pop singer Mina, with whom he collaborated as a composer and an arranger and with whom he co-founded the music label PDU. ''L'eredità'' (''The inheritance'') is an Italian Rai 1 game show. It premiered on 29 July 2002. From 29 July 2002 to 10 June 2006, it was hosted by Italian presenter Amadeus. He was succeeded by Carlo Conti, who hosted the show until 14 April 2014, when he was replaced by Fabrizio Frizzi. Frizzi hosted until 23 October 2017, when he became ill during the taping of the next show and was taken to the hospital. Carlo Conti substituted for Frizzi from 30 October 2017 to 15 December 2017, and he hosted the special episode in tandem with Fabrizio Frizzi when the latter returned to host the quiz. On 16 December 2017, Fabrizio Frizzi resumed hosting the show by himself until 25 March 2018. The next day, Frizzi died of a brain haemorrhage. The lira (; plural lire) was the currency of Italy between 1861 and 2002. "Chain of Fools" is a song written by Don Covay. Aretha Franklin first released the song as a single in 1967 and subsequently it appeared on many of her albums. It hit number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot Rhythm & Blues chart and number two on ''Billboard's'' Hot 100 chart. In the lyrics, the singer has been with her boyfriend for five years but realizes she's one of his "chain of fools," women with whom he's been cheating. Luigi Sabani, best known as Gigi Sabani (5 October 1952 – 4 September 2007), was an Italian TV impersonator, host and singer. Biography and career Born in Rome, Sabani made his television debut in the late 1970s as an impersonator: his most famous imitations included those of Adriano Celentano and Mike Bongiorno. From 1983 to 1986 he hosted the Italian version of the show ''The Price Is Right'' ('' OK, il Prezzo è Giusto!'') along with (and later succeeded by) Italian singer Iva Zanicchi. He participated at Festival di Sanremo in 1989. His best-known song was ''A me mi torna in mente una canzone'' (1983). In 1997, he was implicated in a judicial case for fraud in sexual matters and induction to prostitution: he was arrested, but was discharged as the case was filed, and Sabani claimed damages.
