O'Connor–Parkview
O'Connor–Parkview is a neighbourhood in the East York area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While the name is taken from the definition used by the city of Toronto, local residents are more familiar with the niche areas that define the larger neighbourhood. It is a very diverse neighbourhood that includes English-speaking and Greeks in the west, to the Tamil speakers in the east and Bengali people in the south. It includes low-income highrises, to huge property lots. The smaller areas included inside the neighbourhood are Topham Park, Woodbine Gardens and Parkview Hills. Located southeast of the Don Valley, the neighbourhood is bordered on the South by Taylor-Massey Creek (which flows west into the Don), to the east by Victoria Park Avenue and to the north by Holland Avenue. Oakridge, Toronto
Oakridge is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, Canada, in the Scarborough district. The community neighbours Birch Cliff to the south, Danforth Village to the east and Cliffside to the west edging onto the Scarborough Bluffs. The neighbourhood is bordered by Victoria Park Avenue to the west, Massey Creek to the north, Warden Avenue to the east travelling south until Mack Avenue which then extends east again to the CNR rail line which forms the southern border. Bermondsey, Toronto
Bermondsey is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It covers a rough triangle with the Don Valley to the west, Eglinton Avenue to the northeast and O'Connor Drive to the southeast. It straddles the border of the former suburbs of East York and North York. The area is named after Bermondsey Drive that runs through the centre of the district and named after Peek Freans' head office location at Bermondsey. History As trucks replaced trains and ships as the main method for transporting goods, industries in Toronto no longer needed to be placed near to rail lines or the harbour. Taylor-Massey Creek
Taylor-Massey Creek is a tributary of the Don River in Toronto, Ontario. It flows through Scarborough and East York, where it enters the Don River. Taylor-Massey Creek has also been called ''Silver Creek'' and ''Scarboro Creek''. The creek is named after two prominent Toronto families. The Taylors were a wealthy family that owned and operated the Don Valley Brick Works. The Massey family owned the Massey-Harris farm equipment manufacturing company. Both families had sizable estates in the vicinity of the creek. The Massey Goulding Estate, a historic property at 305 Dawes Road, was originally part of the Massey estate and is now used as the Children's Peace Theatre. Clairlea
Clairlea is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is located in the western part of the district of Scarborough, Toronto, Scarborough just east of Victoria Park Avenue. To the north, it is bounded by Eglinton Avenue and to the south by Taylor-Massey Creek and the railway tracks. The neighborhood is served by Warden station and the Don Valley Parkway.
