Clairlea
Clairlea is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is located in the western part of the district of Scarborough, Toronto, Scarborough just east of Victoria Park Avenue. To the north, it is bounded by Eglinton Avenue and to the south by Taylor-Massey Creek and the railway tracks. The neighborhood is served by Warden station and the Don Valley Parkway. A large portion of Clairlea-Birchmount is taken up by shopping centres, the Eglinton Square Shopping Centre and other large retail developments along what was once Scarborough’s old Golden Mile, Toronto, Golden Mile of Industry on Eglinton Avenue. The Golden Mile is a commercial district in the Scarborough, Toronto, Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Situated along Eglinton Avenue East, east of Victoria Park Avenue, it was one of Canada's first model industrial parks. The original Golden Mile of Industry ran along Eglinton from Pharmacy Avenue east to Birchmount Road. Eglinton Square Shopping Centre
Eglinton Square Shopping Centre is an enclosed shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located at Eglinton Avenue, Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue in Scarborough, Toronto, Scarborough's Golden Mile, Toronto, Golden Mile neighbourhood. It opened in 1954 as a Strip mall, strip plaza, like most retail space at the time, and was later converted to mall. It was notable for having a parking garage attached to Morgans department store, with a steep winding ramp. Morgan's was bought by the Hudson's Bay Company and eventually became a Hudson's Bay (retailer), Bay. The garage was demolished. The main shopping centre still has two 1960s style ramps that provide two levels of parking on top of the stores. Regent Park
Regent Park is a neighbourhood located in downtown Toronto, Ontario built in the late 1940s as a public housing project managed by Toronto Community Housing. It sits on what used to be a significant part of the Cabbagetown neighbourhood and is bounded by Gerrard Street East to the north, River Street to the east, Shuter Street to the south and Parliament Street to the west. Regent Park's residential dwellings, prior to the ongoing redevelopment, were entirely social housing and covered all of the 69 acres (280,000 m²) which comprise the community.
