Nyona Lake
Nyona Lake is a lake near the town of Macy, Indiana, in Fulton County. Originally known as North Mud Lake it was renamed for Nyona Shaffer, whose family operated a cabin rental business on the lakefront in the 1920's. Early investors in the lake's recreation business included Chevrolet founder Louis Chevrolet who operated a dancehall and refreshment stands. Fulton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. , the population was 20,836. The county seat is Rochester. History The first non-Native Americans to ever set foot in what is now Fulton County, Indiana ,were French traders. Few of them remained permanently as year-round residents of the area and by the 1830s there was no French population in what is now Fulton County. In the 1820s and 1830s, migrants from New England began moving to what is now Indiana in large numbers (though there was a trickle of New England settlers who arrived before this date). Macy is a town in Allen Township, Miami County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 199 at the 2020 census. History Macy was laid out in 1860 at the time the railroad arrived in the neighborhood. Louis-Joseph Chevrolet (; December 25, 1878 – June 6, 1941) was a Swiss-American race car driver, mechanic and entrepreneur who co-founded the Chevrolet Motor Car Company in 1911. Early life Louis-Joseph Chevrolet was born on December 25, 1878, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, canton of Neuchâtel, a center of watchmaking in northwestern Switzerland.
