Alba Nydia Díaz (born April 27, 1955) is a Puerto Rican actress who has worked in Puerto Rico and Mexico. Early years Díaz was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Although the roles she portrayed in her early days and years after were not leading roles, from ''Conciencia Culpable'' (''Guilty Conscience''), in 1969, through ''Cristina Bazán'', in 1977, starring Johanna Rosaly, she always managed to impress in her performances. Nydia Caro (born June 7, 1948) is a Puerto Rican singer. Early years Caro was born in New York City to parents from Rincón, Puerto Rico, initiated her career in the arts at a very young age while living in New York. She attended James Monroe H.S. where she graduated in 1964. After completing high school she enrolled in the New York School of Performing Arts in singing, dancing, and acting classes. Music and Acting career Caro made her debut in show business acting at an NBC television show and in 1964 released a Christmas-themed single on the Roulette Records label, "Ask Me What I Want for Christmas" (Roulette R-4588). In 1967, shortly after her father died, she moved to Puerto Rico and released her first album titled ''Dimelo tu''. She has released 20 internationally acclaimed albums and CDs ever since. Nydia Rojas (born 1980, in Whittier, California), is an American singer who performs in a wide range of musical styles such as jazz, soul, and R&B, but makes a particular specialty of Mexican folk music. Early life Nydia spent several years of her early childhood in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she was exposed to local musical styles which greatly influenced her later career. At age 9, her first public performance took place at an East Los Angeles marketplace named "El Mercadito", which marked the albeit small beginning of her public performing career. That same year, she performed at a retirement home in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and the following year, at age 10, she embarked on regular gigs at several Mexican restaurants in the Los Angeles area.
