Nuno Alexandre Teixeira Sociedade (born 6 January 1979) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Santiago Futebol Clube mainly as a left midfielder. Club career Sociedade was born in Ponta Delgada. Being able to operate as either a midfielder or a defender on the left flank, he spent most of his professional career with local C.D. Santa Clara, playing nearly 200 competitive matches with the Azores club and also being eventually awarded captaincy. The 2009–10 Liga de Honra season (also known as Liga Vitalis due to sponsorship reasons) is the 20th season of the second-tier football in Portugal. It began on 13 August 2009 and will end on 9 May 2010. Olhanense are the defending champions. Teams Trofense were relegated to the Liga de Honra after finishing 16th and last in the Portuguese Liga 2008–09 season. Trofense were to be accompanied by Belenenses, who finished in 15th place. Belenenses were ending a ten-year stretch in the Portuguese top-level league, while Trofense returned to the Liga da Honra after just one year in the top flight. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game.
