Nuneaton High School For Girls
Etone College (formerly Etone Community School and Technology College) is a secondary academy school in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. It was founded in 1910 as the Nuneaton High School for Girls. It is a mixed school of non-denominational religion. History Nuneaton High School for Girls was founded in 1910 with the strong support of the Director of Education Bolton King. The founding head was (later Dame) Emmeline Mary Tanner who would go on to shape the 1944 Education Act. The school was the grammar school for girls passing the eleven plus exam. However, after the abolition of the tripartite system, the school became mixed sex and changed its name to 'Etone Community School'. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Hartshill Academy (formerly Hartshill School) is a Mixed-sex education, mixed secondary school located in Hartshill area of Nuneaton in the English county of Warwickshire. Feeder schools include Nathaniel Newton Infant School and Michael Drayton Junior School amongst others. Established in 1957, the school converted to Academy (English school), academy status in 2012 and is now sponsored by the Midland Academy Trust. Hartshill Academy educates pupils from the Hartshill area of Nuneaton and surrounding areas. Caroline Graham
Caroline Graham (born 17 July 1931) is an English playwright, screenwriter and novelist. Early life and education Graham was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire to a working-class family, and attended Nuneaton High School for Girls where her English teacher encouraged her to write. Graham's mother died when she was six and her father remarried when she was 13. At the age of 14, she left school and went to work in Courtaulds Mill as a wefter. She served in the Women's Royal Naval Service from 1953 to 1955 but eventually ran away because she hated it. She met up with her airforce penpal, Graham Cameron, whom she later married. The couple moved to France, living in a mews house at Versailles where Cameron was stationed as part of his work for the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers in Europe.
