''Space Boy'' is a 1973 short science fiction film directed by Austrian artist Renate Druks. It was written by Florence Marly and featured music from electronic music pioneers Bebe and Louis Barron. It's rumored that Frank Zappa drummed on the soundtrack. The film was nominated for a Grand Prix at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival. Stuart Thomson plays the titular Space Boy and writer Florence Marly is the cosmic seductress Valana. ''Rolie Polie Olie'' is a computer-animated children's television series produced by Nelvana and created by William Joyce. The show focuses on a little robot who is composed of several spheres and other three-dimensional geometric shapes. The show was one of the earliest series that was fully animated in CGI. "Hallo Spaceboy" is a song by David Bowie from his 1995 album '' Outside'', and the third and final single from the album. The track was re-recorded in 1996 and issued as a remix featuring Pet Shop Boys as guest artists. Bowie and Brian Eno co-wrote the original album version of the song. Song development Written in early 1995, Bowie biographers Nicholas Pegg and Chris O'Leary point to the influence of the work of Brion Gysin on the song, who purportedly spoke the words "Moon dust will cover me" just before his death in 1986. Recording partner Reeves Gabrels recalled writing a song fragment called "Moondust" in mid-1994, which he thinks may have also influenced the song. Bowie wrote and recorded the song in mostly-improvised sessions with his band in 1995, and intentionally wrote it with a Nine Inch Nails-like vibe. Space Boy Soran
is a Japanese black and white anime television series created by Kazuya Fukumoto and Yoshikatsu Miyakoshi. The show aired in the United States in 1966 as ''Zoran, Space Boy''. The series was released on DVD in 2015. Plot Dr. Tachibana once designed the highly dangerous antiproton bomb and planned to escape Earth with his wife and children for fear of prosecution. On their way in space, their space ship is almost destroyed and only Dr. Tachibana's children, his son and his daughter, escape. The son is rescued by aliens called the Soran who live on a planet with 15 times the gravity of Earth. They name him Soran after their planet and is turned into a cyborg to save his life. He returns to Earth to search for his sister who escaped, but is yet to be found. He then lives with the archaeologist Dr. Kotsuki and his daughter Mika. and teams up with his pet squirrel, Chappy.
