The Nuba Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Organisation (NRRDO) is a Sudanese humanitarian organization, the "best-known development organisation" of the Nuba people. Nuba People
The Nuba people are indigenous inhabitants of central Sudan. Nuba are various indigenous ethnic groups who inhabit the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan state in Sudan, encompassing multiple distinct people that speak different languages which belong to at least two unrelated language families. In 2011 when Southern part of Sudan become independent State as a country with Sovereignty, Nuba is currently living in the Southern part of Sudan. Estimates of the Nuba population vary widely; the Sudanese government estimated that they numbered 2.07 million in 2003. The term should not be confused with the Nubians, an unrelated ethnic group speaking the Nubian languages living in Northern Sudan and Southern Egypt, although the Hill Nubians, who live in the Nuba Mountains, are also considered part of the Nuba peoples. Yousif Kuwa
Yousif Kuwa Mekki (1945–2001; Arabic: یوسف كوة مكي) was a Sudanese revolutionary, rebel commander and politician. Early life Yousif Kuwa was born in 1945 at Jebel Miri, a locality in the Nuba Mountains of Central Sudan. A member of the Miri sub-tribe, he was named Kuwa after his father and Mekki after his grandfather. As with most rural Sudanese, his exact birthday is not recorded. Kuwa’s father was a soldier, and the family moved around the country, resulting in Kuwa growing up with little knowledge of his ethnic Nuba heritage. Early Political Activism Kuwa was raised a Muslim, and actually grew up believing he was an Arab. Although a brilliant student, Kuwa's Arab secondary school headmaster made a comment that changed the course of his life, saying, while justifying the unnecessity of education for Nuba children: "What is the use of teaching Nuba, who are going to work as servants in houses?" Nuba Mountains
The Nuba Mountains ( ar, جبال النوبة), also referred to as the Nuba Hills, is an area located in South Kordofan, Sudan. The area is home to a group of indigenous ethnic groups known collectively as the Nuba peoples. In the Middle Ages, the Nuba mountains had been part of the Nubian kingdom of Alodia. In the 18th century, they became home to the kingdom of Taqali that controlled the hills of the mountains until their defeat by Mahdi Muhammad Ahmad. After the British defeated the Mahdi army, Taqali was restored as a client state. Infiltration of the Messiria tribe of Baggara Arabs has been influential in modern conflicts. Up to 1.5 million people live in the mountains mostly ethnic Nuba and small minority of Baggara. Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. Najwa Musa Konda
Najwa Musa Konda (alternative spellings: Nagwa, Mousa, Kinda, Kunda) (born 1976) is a Sudanese women's rights activist and civil society leader for the Two Areas ( South Kordofan and Blue Nile). Life Najwa Musa Konda was born in 1976 in the village of Kambara, near the small town of Kauda. Her father, Musa Konda Kuka, had taken literacy classes late in life, and ensured all his nine children attended school. Despite experiencing some prejudice against both her dark skin and her Christianity, Najwa Musa Konda won a scholarship to Ahfad University for Women in Omdurman. After graduation she studied for a Master's degree at Swansea University in Wales. Najwa Musa's education enabled her to get jobs in the humanitarian sector. In 2005, she was a representative of the Nuba women's association.
