John McLaughlin (musician)
John McLaughlin (born 4 January 1942), frequently known as Mahavishnu John, is an English guitarist, bandleader, and composer. A pioneer of jazz fusion, his music combines elements of jazz with rock, world music, Indian classical music, Western classical music, flamenco, and blues. After contributing to several key British groups of the early 1960s, McLaughlin made ''Extrapolation'', his first album as a bandleader, in 1969. He then moved to the U.S., where he played with drummer Tony Williams's group Lifetime and then with Miles Davis on his electric jazz fusion albums ''In a Silent Way'', '' Bitches Brew'', '' Jack Johnson'', and ''On the Corner''. Gary Husband
Gary Husband (born 14 June 1960) is an English jazz and rock drummer, pianist, keyboard player and bandleader. He is also a composer, arranger and producer. Husband is a member of John McLaughlin's group The 4th Dimension, he also regularly performs with Germany's Norddeutscher Rundfunk Big Band and as a solo pianist. Electric Guitar

Fretless Bass
A fretless bass is a bass guitar whose neck does not have any frets. While the instrument is played in all styles of music, it is most common in pop, rock, and jazz. It first saw widespread use during the 1970s, although some players used them before then. Instead of being invented by an instrument manufacturer, the first fretless basses usually resulted from modifications made by bass guitar players. One of the first (if not the first) examples of this is Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, who removed the frets from his bass guitar in 1961 to fix a fret buzz issue. The album was released in 2010 on Abstract Logix Records and was produced by McLaughlin. It reached number 27 on the ''Billboard'' Jazz Albums Chart and was nominated for the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Overview ''To the One'' was inspired by the 1965 John Coltrane album ''A Love Supreme''. The liner notes were written by McLaughlin and detail how he was influenced by ''A Love Supreme'' both musically and spiritually. The music came to McLaughlin over a five-week period in the summer of 2009. Ranjit Barot
Ranjit Barot (born 1959) is an Indian film score composer, music director, music arranger, drummer and singer based in Mumbai, India. He is a longtime associate of A. R. Rahman. He has been described by guitar legend John McLaughlin as "one of the leading edges in drumming", and is now part of John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension. Early life and background Born into a family steeped in Indian classical music and dance, melody and rhythm has always been an integral part of Ranjit's life. His mother was the renowned Kathak dancer, Sitara Devi.
