Novamute Records is the electronic dance music subsidiary of Mute Records, which was started in 1992.Larkin, Colin (1999) ''The Virgin Encyclopedia of Dance Music'', Virgin Books, , p. 243 The label's staff included Mick Paterson (promotions), Pepe Jansz ( A&R), and producer Seth Hodder, and it was originally set up to give UK releases to white label 12-inch singles and imports. In the United States it was distributed by Tommy Boy Records while the Mute parent label was distributed by Elektra Records. In the beginning, the label licensed records and music from small labels such as Berlin-based Tresor and Canadian label Plus 8. Charlotte De Witte
Charlotte de Witte (born 21 July 1992) is a Belgian DJ and record producer, best known for her "dark and stripped-back" brand of minimal techno and acid techno music. She has previously performed under the alias Raving George. She is the founder of the label KNTXT. Early life and career de Witte was born in Ghent, Belgium on 21 July 1992. Around 2009, she started to explore Ghent's underground nightclub scene, where she was drawn to electronic music. She started DJing in 2010, mainly playing electro music; her production work commenced about two years later. Winning a Studio Brussel DJ contest in 2011, she subsequently performed at the Tomorrowland festival. She adopted the alias Raving George to avoid negative preconceptions against female DJs, releasing her debut EP in 2013. Caroline Hervé (born 1973), known professionally as Miss Kittin, is a French electronic music producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Since rising to prominence in 1998 for her singles " 1982" and "Frank Sinatra" with The Hacker, she has worked with other musicians such as Chicks on Speed, Felix da Housecat and Golden Boy. Juno Reactor is a multi-national musical and performing group, primarily based in Brighton, UK. Known for their cinematic fusion of electronic, global influences, and orchestral symphonic approach, collaborating with composer Don Davis and composing for the musical score of '' The Matrix (Reloaded and Revolutions)''. Central to the project is Ben Watkins and his collaborations with a constantly changing ensemble of musicians from across the world. Emmanuel Top (born 25 October 1971) is a French acid techno music producer. He was popular in the 1990s for his releases on his own record label, Attack Records, he began his career at the end of the 1980s in full wave New beat on the Belgian label DIKI Records, his first track was The drop deal released in 1988 under the pseudonym Bazz. His most famous track is titled "Turkish Bazar", released in 1994, which contains warped, looping vocal lyrics, originally performed by Jim Morrison in the song "Black Polished Chrome" by The Doors: "The music was new black polished chrome and came over the summer like liquid night." The track contains a sweeping acid bass line using the Roland TB-303 synthesizer and punchy TR-909 kicks.
