Notre Dame High School (Harper Woods, Michigan)
Notre Dame High School was a Catholic, all–male, non–residential college preparatory school in the Detroit suburb of Harper Woods, Michigan. Harper Woods, Michigan
Harper Woods is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The city had a population of 15,492 at the 2020 census. Harper Woods is a northeastern suburb of Metro Detroit and shares its southern and western border with the city of Detroit. It was incorporated as a city from the last remaining portion of Gratiot Township in 1951. Etymology According to the city's website, Harper Woods was so named because it was then a wooded area and because its main thoroughfare was Harper Avenue (named for Walter Harper, founder of Harper Hospital in Detroit). History Harper Woods was incorporated as a city on February 19, 1951, from what was left of Gratiot Township. John Blum
John Joseph Blum (born September 8, 1959) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He played in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals, and Detroit Red Wings between 1982 and 1990. He also spent considerable time in the minor American Hockey League, and retired in 1995. Playing career Blum was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan. His high school hockey teammates were comedian Dave Coulier and other well known players and personalities. Blum played both high school and college hockey under head coach John Giordano. Douglas Daniel Weight (born January 21, 1971) is an American professional ice hockey coach, executive and former player. He is also the former head coach and assistant general manager for the New York Islanders. During his 19-year National Hockey League career, he played for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues and the New York Islanders. Playing career As a youth, Weight played in the 1983 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Detroit Compuware minor ice hockey team. David Edward Bonior (born June 6, 1945) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Michigan.
