Not Like This
''Not Like This'' is the debut studio album by Long Island punk rock band Iron Chic. The album was recorded in guitarist Phil Douglas' studio, The Hobo House and released on bassist Mike Bruno's Dead Broke Rekerds. Background In 2008 and 2009 respectively, the band released ''Demo 2008'' and the ''Shitty Rambo'' EP amassing a sizable underground following and critical buzz. During this time the band almost broke up with guitarist Brian Crozier having to step down from the band due to illness and bassist John Mee being ejected due to tensions within the band. Rob McAllister of Capital and Mike Bruno of Down In The Dumps, Jonesin' and Get Bent were chosen to replace Crozier and Mee respectively. This lineup began writing their first full-length immediately following the inclusion of McAllister and Bruno into the band with "In One Ear" and "Timecop"- originally released on the band's 2008 Demo- being re-recorded for the album. Iron Chic is an American rock band from Long Island, New York, United States. The band consists of Phil Douglas, Jason Lubrano, Gordon Lafler, Mike Bruno, and Jesse Litwa. Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Phil Douglas (musician)
Phil Douglas is an American musician and producer. He is best known for being one of the frontmen and guitarists of Latterman as well as the guitarist of Iron Chic. In 2015 Douglas reunited with his Latterman band mates and formed Tender Defender. Latterman and Tender Defender Douglas formed Latterman with former Five Days Late bandmates Mattie Jo Canino and Dan Sposato as well as friend Pat Schramm. The group self-released two demos and their debut ''None of These Songs Are About Girls'' between 1999 and 2000. They released their first official album, ''Turn Up The Punk, We'll Be Singing'' on Traffic Violation Records in 2002 before signing with Deep Elm Records and releasing what's largely considered to be Latterman's magnum opus in ''No Matter Where We Go...'' in 2005 and releasing their final album ''We Are Still Alive'' the following year then breaking up in 2007. The Constant One
''The Constant One'' is the second studio album by Long Island, New York punk rock band Iron Chic. This album marks the band's first release on Bridge 9 Records. The band recorded the album in guitarist Phil Douglas' Hobo House studio. Background After 3 years of on and off touring in support of Not Like This and releasing the ''Split 'N Shit'' and ''Spooky Action'' EP's (the title track off the latter was re-recorded for The Constant One), Bridge Nine Records expressed interest in signing the band in which the band decided to officially start writing their follow up. The album is notable in being more optimistic in tone than its predecessor while also featuring slower and mid tempo songs such as the aforementioned "Spooky Action (At A Distance)" and the introspective "(Castle) Numbskull" as well as more observational and personal lyrics.
