Northmount is a neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It and the Evansdale neighbourhood to the north comprise Edmonton's Dickinsfield community. Northmount is bounded by the Griesbach neighbourhood across 97 Street to the west, the Evansdale neighbourhood across 144 Avenue to the north, the Kildare neighbourhood across 82 Street to the east, and the Glengarry neighbourhood across 137 Avenue to the south. The community is represented by the Northmount Community League, established in 1971, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 92 Street and 140 Avenue. Downtown Edmonton is the central business district of Edmonton, Alberta. Coliseum Transit Centre
Coliseum station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is located at 78 Street and 118 Avenue, near Northlands Coliseum, and is built on an overpass above 118 Avenue (Alberta Avenue). History The station is one of the original five stations, and opened on April 22, 1978. Although Coliseum was never a terminus of the LRT line, all trains started and ended their runs at Coliseum when the fleet of LRT rail cars was maintained at the Cromdale garage nearby. The fleet is now housed at the D.L. MacDonald Transit Yard, which was completed in December 1983. Clareview Transit Centre
Clareview station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line and is currently the northern terminal station, terminus of the line. It is a ground-level station located near 42 Street and 139 Avenue, and is named for the northeast Edmonton district of Clareview. Century Park station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves the Capital Line. It is a ground-level station located at 111 Street near 23 Avenue, and is named after the transit-oriented development Century Park, located on the former Heritage Mall site next to the station. Century Park is currently the southern terminus of the Capital Line. The station was officially opened on April 24, 2010, with regular service commencing on April 25, 2010. Castle Downs Transit Centre
Castle Downs is a residential area in the northwest portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. The area was originally to be called Athabasca Downs, but when the city rejected the name, the developer used their second choice: Castle Downs. The names of the communities were based on European castles, and Castle Downs became the first area in Edmonton to be named in a thematic way. According to former Names Committee secretary Nancy Diettrich “The castles were chosen to recognize the different ethnic groups in the area.” It was originally established in 1971 through Edmonton City Council's adoption of the Castle Downs Outline Plan, and then extended northward in 1983 through the adoption of the Caste Downs Extension Area Structure Plan. Belvedere station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit in Edmonton, Alberta. It serves the Capital Line. It is a ground-level station located at Fort Road and 129 Avenue. Northgate Transit Center
Northgate is a light rail and bus station in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is the northern terminus of the 1 Line on Sound Transit's Link light rail system. The transit center, located adjacent to the Northgate Mall (now named Northgate Station), has four bus bays served by 22 routes. The station also has parking for 1,525 vehicles. The transit center opened in June 1992 as a major hub for North Seattle buses and was prioritized as a light rail terminus during planning later in the decade. Northgate Centre
Northgate Centre is a shopping mall located in the northern part of Edmonton, Alberta. It contains more than 70 stores and services. Its main anchor tenants are Marshalls, Safeway, and Walmart. History The mall first opened in April 1965 as Northgate Shopping Centre and was home to the Woodward's department store. A major renovation was completed in 1986, adding a second storey and twin two level parkades on the northwest and southwest corners, and the mall was renamed Northwood Mall. In 1998, First Capital Realty took ownership of the mall and a year later began a three-year redevelopment that was completed in 2002.
