History Northeast Community School District was formed in 1962, with the consolidation of Goose Lake, Elvira and Charlotte schools. At one time the East Central Community School District had a whole grade-sharing agreement in which East Central sent students in grades 7–12 to the Northeast district. East Central residents had the option of instead attending Preston Community School District's secondary school in an open enrollment scheme, although most secondary students attended Northeast. Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) is the governing body for girls' junior and senior high school sports in the U.S. state of Iowa. The association promotes and regulates interscholastic sports among its member schools. Though its counterpart for boys sports in Iowa, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, is a full-time member of the National Federation of State High School Associations, the IGHSAU is only an affiliate member. KCCI (channel 8) is a television station in Des Moines, Iowa, United States, affiliated with CBS. Owned by Hearst Television, the station maintains studios on Ninth Street in downtown Des Moines and a transmitter in Alleman. History KCCI started on the air on July 31, 1955, as KRNT-TV, the third television station in Des Moines and the ninth in Iowa. It was owned by the Cowles family, publishers of the still-operating ''Des Moines Register'' and the now-defunct ''Des Moines Tribune'' newspapers, along with KRNT radio (AM 1350 and the original KRNT-FM at 104.5, which went dark). Preston Community School District was a school district consisting of a school in Preston, Iowa, United States. As of 2005-2006 the district had 335 students and 31 teachers. By 2012 there were discussions on merging with the East Central Community School District, and Robert Lagerblade, the superintendent of the Preston district, presented a report stating that there would be a better financial system. Voters in both districts approved the merger, by 776–122 in the Preston district and 620–598 in the East Central district. Clinton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,460. Its county seat is Clinton. Its name is in honor of the seventh Governor of New York State, DeWitt Clinton. Clinton County comprises the Clinton, IA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Davenport–Moline–Rock Island Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Clinton County was formed on December 21, 1837. It was named for DeWitt Clinton, a Governor of New York and most ardent advocate for the construction of the Erie Canal.
