North Shore Rugby Football Club
The North Shore Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Devonport, New Zealand. The club is a member of the North Harbour Rugby Union. Until 1985, with the creation of the North Harbour union, North Shore was a member of the Auckland Rugby Football Union. History The club was established in May 1873, making North Shore the oldest club in Auckland and one of the oldest in New Zealand. The club has been based at Devonport Domain since the early twentieth century and adopted its current green and white hoops in 1935. The club won the Auckland championship on one occasion, in 1899, and has won the North Harbour championship on seven occasions. North Harbour Rugby Union
The North Harbour Rugby Union (NHRU), commonly known as North Harbour or simply Harbour, is the governing body of rugby union that encompasses a wide geographical area north of Auckland that includes North Shore City, Rodney District, the Hibiscus Coast and part of Waitakere City. There are 12 rugby clubs from Mahurangi RFC, based in Warkworth, Rodney District, in the north through to Massey the southernmost area of the union. The NHRU provincial rugby team that was formed in 1985 by clubs that left the Auckland Rugby Union. It competes in the Mitre 10 Cup, the successor to New Zealand's former domestic competition, the National Provincial Championship (NPC). The Auckland Rugby Union is a New Zealand provincial rugby union. The union was established in 1883 and was originally responsible for the administration of the sport in most of the former Auckland Province, although its boundaries have since shrunk to include only a portion of the Auckland urban area. The union governs the Auckland representative team, which has won New Zealand's first-tier domestic provincial competition 17 times, more than any other team. Their most recent title was the 2018 Mitre 10 Cup Premiership. Stuart Krohn
Stuart Krohn (born November 9, 1962) is an American former professional rugby union player. At the University of California, Santa Barbara, he was an All-American in 1986. In Hong Kong, he played for Valley RFC for eight years, as the team won eight consecutive championships, and captained the international team at the 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens and the 1997 Rugby World Cup Sevens. Krohn was a member of the silver medal winning USA Men's Rugby Team at the 1993 Maccabiah Games in Israel, and a member of the gold medal winning team at the 1997 Maccabiah Games. Youth and college Krohn was born in Durham, North Carolina. Krohn started playing rugby at the University of Colorado Boulder, for the Colorado Buffaloes in 1980. Buck Shelford
Sir Wayne Thomas "Buck" Shelford (born 13 December 1957) is a former New Zealand rugby union footballer and coach who represented and captained New Zealand (the All Blacks) in the late 1980s. He is also credited with revitalising the performance of the All Blacks' traditional "Ka Mate" haka. In August 2021, it was announced that he would feature in the 2021 Season of Celebrity Treasure Island 2021. Brad Johnstone
Bradley Ronald Johnstone (born 30 July 1950), known as Brad Johnstone, is a former New Zealand rugby union footballer and currently the President of the North Shore Rugby Football Club. He used to play as a prop. All Black number 749. He first played for Auckland, in 1971, and went on to play 122 matches for them including captaining them between 1977 and 1981. Johnstone had 13 caps for New Zealand, from 1976 to 1979, scoring 2 tries, 8 points in aggregate. During the 1978 New Zealand rugby union tour of Britain and Ireland, he completed a "Grand Slam" with the four Home Nations. He attended Takapuna Grammar where he played in the first XV in 1965/66. Frano Botica
Frano Michael Botica (born 3 August 1963) is a New Zealand-Croatian rugby union and rugby league coach and former player in both codes, who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He is the head coach of the Philippines sevens team. He represented New Zealand at both codes, and later also played for Croatia in two rugby union World Cup qualifying matches.
