North Kildare Reapers
The North Kildare Reapers were an American Football team formed in 2012 and participated in the IAFL from 2013 to 2017 seasons. The team merged with the South Kildare Soldiers after the 2017 season. The merged club plays as the Cill Dara Crusaders. The club Their first year of competition was 2013. They are a fully kitted team playing under the 2014 NCAA rules, as governed by the Irish American Football League. The players have a wide range of experience levels. The team trained and played their home games at North Kildare Rugby Club located in Kilcock, County Kildare. Irish American Football League
American Football Ireland (AFI) is the National Governing Body for American football for Ireland and Northern Ireland. Founded in 1984 the AFI is entirely volunteer run and all American football played in Ireland is played at an amateur level. History 1980s and 1990s The first Shamrock Bowl game was played in 1986 between the Craigavon Cowboys and the Dublin Celts. The Cowboys won the first title played in Dublin. The Celts then went on to be the number 1 team in Ireland for the next 10 years, winning the Shamrock Bowl 5 times. The Celts were also the First Irish team to represent Ireland in the Euro Bowl – the then Champions league of European American Football. 2000s During 2000, plans were made to resurrect the IAFL. Garda RFC
Garda RFC is the rugby team with players drawn mostly from local areas of Westmanstown( Lucan, Leixlip, Dunboyne, Clonsilla, Castleknock, Blanchardstown) and members of Garda Síochána, the national police force of Ireland. It currently plays in Division 2B of the Leinster League. History The club was founded in February 1965 by rugby enthusiasts at the Garda Station in Pearse Street. One of its first coaches was the former Ireland and British and Irish Lions prop, Gordon Wood, who was also the father of the rugby icon Keith Wood. His memory is honoured by the Gordon Wood Trophy, competed for annually by the Garda and the Irish Defence Forces rugby teams. Other trophies contested by the club include the Eugene Crowley Cup against Monkstown, the Doyle Cup against Greystones, the Trevaskis Cup against Clontarf and the George Treiner Cup against Terenure. Dublin Rebels
The Dublin Rebels are the most successful team in the history of the Irish American Football League. They have earned nine national championship wins (Shamrock Bowl XV, XVII, XVIII, XIX, XX, XXIV, XXV, XXX, XXXI), four league titles, three European crowns, and have registered an undefeated season twice; once in 2006 and again in 2010. Most recently, The Rebels posted an undefeated regular season, losing in the Shamrock Bowl, to UCD History 1995 season The Rebels were founded by Philip Woodyard, Marcus Naylor and Andrew Flynn in 1995. They eventually joined the 1995–1996 Irish Flag Football League season and the Rebels had an average season. Waterford RSC
The Waterford Regional Sports Centre (or simply, the RSC) is part of Waterford Corporation's Municipal sporting facilities and home to Waterford F.C. of the League of Ireland. Waterford moved to the newly opened RSC from their former home, Kilcohan Park for the 1993-94 season and have remained there ever since. Included on another site is an 18-hole pitch-and-putt course, an indoor hall, football pitches and tennis courts. The complex also had a Skateboard Park. The RSC comprises two stands. The Cork Road West Stand, opened in May 1996 has capacity of 1,275 seats. The new Kilbarry side East Stand which holds 1,760 opened in May 2008 and brings seating capacity to 3,035. There are future plans to extend the West Stand to bring the overall seated capacity to near 5,000. The RSC also contains a tartan athletics track which runs around the soccer pitch. The University of Limerick Vikings are the American football team from the University of Limerick in Limerick, Ireland. The team currently competes in the American Football Ireland Division One. The Vikings have won three IAFL Shamrock Bowl titles – in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the Atlantic Cup in 2010. The Vikings' all-time record is 54–30–4 (0.580).
